Author's POV....

The next morning, Sakshi woke up with an awful headache, mainly because of the alcohol and partially because of how she did not get quality sleep as she woke up at least 5 times to throw up, disrupting Meera's sleep as well. After taking some paracetamol, Sakshi went to the washroom to get a cold shower. After getting a cold shower, she dressed herself into a long flared cotton kurti and went to the kitchen to have some breakfast. "Hey Sakshi, shall I serve you some alcohol? You might prefer that for breakfast" Meera said, making Sakshi roll her eyes.

After picking up a cereal bar from the cupboard, Sakshi went to the living room to have her cereal bar. Meera then followed Sakshi and said "Sakshi, I am going to take you to therapy today. I've booked a session with Dr Malini" Meera said, tired of seeing her friend that way. "No you aren't taking me anywhere Meera" Sakshi replied.

"I can't afford to waste my time putting up with your nonsense. Either you need to move on or go to therapy" Meera said angrily.

"F*ck off" Sakshi said

"No, I will not! If you won't cooperate with me, I'm going to leave this flat" Meera said feeling ever so irritated. Sakshi did not react but after a while she looked down onto the floor with tears welling.

So Meera slowly went and sat next to her best friend, gently rubbed her back and said "what is the use of regretting about the past now? You are wasting your precious life by thinking about Nikhil. He has moved on... you need to accept the fact Sakshi. Everyone makes mistakes and they all deserve a second chance in life" Meera said lovingly.

"But it's hard watching someone you love, loving someone else" Sakshi said quietly. "I know Sakshi but sometimes that's life. Promise me that you will come to therapy today?" Meera said to which Sakshi eventually nodded.

Just then Meera and Sakshi heard their door bell ringing. "I will open it" Meera said and went to open it. After some moments, Sakshi saw Meera bringing in two familiar people to the living room.

"Arpana and Shraddha." Sakshi said slowly standing up from the couch.

Arpana slowly went over and hugged Sakshi "Happy new year, Sakshi" whilst Shradda took a seat on a nearby couch". From Shradda's body language, Sakshi could tell that Shraddha was not happy. To give them privacy Meera went to the kitchen to prepare some drinks and snacks for the guests. Soon after Meera left the room some awkward silence filled the room.

Arpana broke the silence very soon "So Sakshi, how is work going?"

"Going well Arpana..." Sakshi replied hesitantly but asked "How did you find my flat?" avoiding eye contact with Shraddha

"Shreya goes to the same school as my Diya. Shreya had told Diya earlier so I knew it since then" Arpana replied. Shradda did not say anything. She just listened to the conversation between Arpana and Sakshi whilst caressing her pregnant belly every now and then. Sakshi did not fail to notice that.

"Sakshi, we're actually here to let you know of our disappointment" Arpana said very slowly trying not to hurt Sakshi's feelings.

"I'm sorry for the nuisance I caused yesterday" Sakshi said whilst trying not to break down into tears. "There is no point in apologising to me Sakshi. What you're doing is not affecting me but Shraddha. At least be considerate of the fact that Shradda is carrying Nikhil's child" Arpana said.

Carrying Nikhil's child.

"I'm actually very sorry Shradda. I was a little too drunk yesterday" Sakshi said.

"Nikhil and I could tell you were drunk Sakshi" Shradda finally broke her silence and then she said , "but this is not the first time. You do this every now and then. I am not bothered about Nikhil's past because he has been very transparent with me. For him you're just a memory. Good or bad I don't know. Past should remain in the past and I don't want people from Nikhil's past ruining our marital life, especially when I am expecting. As a precaution, Nikhil has blocked you on all social media accounts so hopefully you will not be able to contact him again. However, if you try to contact him again in any way, then I don't know what I will do. I'm sorry to say this but you have brought me to a point where I cannot avoid saying this. So sorry" Shradda said and stormed out of Sakshi's flat while Arpana just looked at Sakshi helplessly.
