Chapter twenty-nine: "Thankful"

Before I could step out of the dorm Daisy spoke "Hey Penelope, I think you better bring an umbrella since it's raining outside"

Her information made me lookout and so I checked my phone quickly

Who knew that today's weather forecast is not how it's predicted to be, I was supposed to exit my dorm until Daisy said about the rain that was pouring really hard outside the dorm building and the weather forecast just said that there is a possibility of having a storm

I need to run to Cloud quick

I was panicking in finding a way to get to the penthouse with the strong downpour flooding the streets quickly
What is wrong with the weather!?

Cheryl, Alice, and Daisy saw me trying my best to find a taxi so Cheryl called up Paul to drive me to the penthouse because I was already drenched in the rain
So much for putting so much effort into getting ready but that's not the problem right now

While I was waiting for Paul at the entrance of the dorm building, Cheryl ran back to our dorm and pulled out some dry clothes for me to change into once I reached the penthouse. None of them knew why I was acting this way but I intend to keep Cloud's secret

I gripped tightly the small bag that has my dry clothes inside as Paul parked right in front of me, he opened the door and I hopped in immediately "Thanks for helping Penelope out Pau Pau" Cheryl thanked her boyfriend

"Your welcome but please don't call me Pau Pau" he replied before stepping on the engine and he started cutting lanes trying his best to reach the penthouse which is luckily not that far
Paul was confused why I urged him to hurry up in driving but he never questioned me since he knew that it is due to personal reasons

Suddenly we heard something that I dread to hear for Cloud
There was lightning until the loud sound of thunder followed

The thunderstorm was so loud that it made the both of us jump in our seats "Shit" I whispered to myself as I eyed the penthouse when the car got near the entrance

I hopped out of the car and thanked Paul before dashing my way to the elevator and pressed the top floor, my heart was beating loudly in my chest but I don't know what Cloud we feeling right now

The elevator door opens and I ran inside the penthouse trying to find Cloud rating that he was ok

I didn't care if I was drenched and cold, all I care was if Cloud was ok and I needed to see it for myself

"Cloud?" I called out his name multiple times while checking every room until I found him having a panic attack in his bedroom while sitting on the bed, his breathing was unstable and his eyes were on the verge of crying but he is trying to hold himself back

I knelt in front of seated Cloud and I looked up to cup his face "I'm here don't worry" I assured him

His first green eyes observed my drenched state "Angel you're going to get sick" he stated while his hands touched my wet hair

I chuckled "I'll be okay but not you"

Another thunderstorm started which made Cloud jump in fright and fear flashed in his eyes, he was shaking a little and not so much like last time. I hugged him and he hugged me tightly that I didn't mind that I was having a hard time breathing a little

"Sorry, this is supposed to be a great day for the both of us I'm really sorry" Cloud kept apologizing to me since he thought that he ruined our dinner date for our anniversary, his voice was shaking as he does it
