Chapter one hundred: "Ring"

I hurriedly ran to Cloud's penthouse, I was almost halfway when I realized I should've just rode a taxi but I was in a hurry

My phone rang inside my pocket and I answered it while running. I didn't bother checking the caller ID "Hello?"

"Angel I'm heading to your home" Cloud spoke over the phone

I halted my running "WHAT?!" I yelled, my head turned left and right
What the heck is he thinking?!

"Where are you?" I asked with one hand on my hip as I try catching my breath

"I'm almost near your house" he spoke with a voice filled with excitement

Two of my fingertips pinched the bridge of my nose "I'm halfway near your penthouse" I answered then checked the time
19 minutes left

It took him a while before he said something, more like yelled something "WHAT?!"
My thoughts exactly

With quick feet, I turned around and walked back home "Where are you right now" I asked with my eyes doing my best to be sharp right now to find him

Hearing his tired breath over the phone call, he said "I'm somewhere near the park"

I stopped in my trails "Which park?" my brows furrowed

"Uh, I don't know. I just try my best to reach you but I didn't know where I was going just to go to your house"

"Cloud there are at least 3 different parks we know that are all near to my home, I can't just find you in all of them"
18 minutes

We kept talking until I reached the first park, my legs felt tired from all the walking and nobody is even after me but I wanted to start New Year with him so I pushed myself to find him

Cloud told me that he is starting to look for me within the area he spoke of. All that walking to reach the first park only left me with 14 minutes

"Cloud?" I called out to him near some fountain in the middle but was nowhere to be seen
Goddamn it there are too many trees in the area to find him

"Angel my phone battery is dying, don't worry I'm still trying to find your midget self"

"I'm not a midget!"

"To me you are" he chuckled before ending the call leaving me with my mouth opened a little
This guy could crack a joke even at a time like this, well that's Cloud for you

12 minutes

12 fucking minutes and still I haven't found him, without Cloud calling me to easily find his location. I was left searching for him like a mother being in a state of panic searching for her child in a kid's ball pit almost the size of a swimming pool

After scouring for a while, I decided to leave the 1st park and headed straight to the 2nd park where the playground was located and where our friends exchanged gifts last Christmas. My hand opened the cellphone to turn on the flashlight so I could find him better

"Cloud? Are you here?" I asked repeatedly almost like 8 times that I have to repeat it

A loud sound came from the sky so I leaned my head back to find a firework was let out. That firework was beautiful but it was also a signal that New Year is almost near and I haven't found Cloud yet
I just wanna have a peaceful New Year

The area was empty, my legs are tired, and I'm out of breath from all that running and walking around like a lost kid. So I decided to take a rest at one of the swings where I sat and checked the time
