On the East wing of the building Kayla and Jeremy walked to the Ms. Alexis' class
"Okay so can you explain what last night was about?" Jeremy questioned the girl who was on her phone sending messages to Caroline who wasn't answering
Kayla sighed and looked up at Jeremy "I feel like everyone with the last name Salvatore is hiding things from me" "You wanna elaborate or?" "I can't elaborate when I don't know what they're hiding....I just....have a feeling it's something really important"
Jeremy frowned "You don't think it's about your birth dad do?" Shaking her head, Kayla responded "Definitely not, I don't even think Stefan and his brother know"
"Hold up, his brothers in town? I thought it was just him?" "Damon's always gone, We haven't had any forms of communication honestly but get this, I swore I saw him on the roof of this building on the night of the comet"
The Gilbert boy eyed the girl weirdly "The roof" "Yes! Then, out comes Vicki and Stefan, but no Damon" "Okay...and how did Damon get down?" "I actually left before I could see if he used the stairs or not but I doubt he used the stairs"
"Kayla.." Jeremy started "Shut up Gilbert, I am not being dramatic" "I never said that, I was however going to say you might be reading too much into this"
"Listen here Germy Gilbert" Kayla stopped walking and stood in front of the boy who rolled his eyes at the nickname from when he got sick as a kid
"I always read into things, I'm an observant black girl. I'm be dumb not to read into weird things that go on in this town, especially when they involve my black ass"
Jeremy started smiling as he looked down at the girl "What the hell are you smiling at me?" "You're very passionate Kayla"
Tilting her head with a blank face Kayla rubbed her forehead "You have problems really..." Kayla turned around to start walking to the classroom when Jeremy spoke up, bitting back a grin "Anyone ever tell you, you look beautiful when you're annoyed?" "I'll walk alone next time, thanks"

Kayla walked into class with about 10 minutes remaining before class ended to hear Tanner throwing a fit
"Look it up, somebody. Quickly" "It was 19...53"
Turning to see the girl walk to her seat, Tanner spoke up still aggravated with the other Salvatore "Miss Salvatore, I'm so glad you could join us. Any reason for todays tardiness?"
As the girl sat down, she smiled pulling out a pass "Mr. Tanner, you should know by now I always have a slip"
"Is todays "slip" real or forged?" "You'd never be able to tell the difference any other time, but it's real today" Kayla shrugged and passed the slip to her teacher who rolled his eyes as he took it
"If you continuously miss my class Miss Salvatore, I'll be left with no choice but to give you detention. You're missing material that could very well be the determining factor as to whether you pass or fail this class, I believe any grade would help your current grade" Tanner threatens as he stands with his arms crossed and a smug grin
"I don't know who pissed in your cheerios but you go the wrong one-"
Kayla started but was interrupted by Tanner "Now-"
"Unt un, I let you speak without interruption, now it's my turn. First off, I have been present ever single class period, this is literally the first time this semester I have been late to your class." Kayla folded her hands together in her desk as she sat up straight with the rest of her classmates eyes the teacher and student
"Second, I am already passing this class. I hold the highest grade out of all of your students in any of your classes. Period point blank. You tried it Mister Tanner, let's not doing it again"
As the bell that signifies class being over rang, Kayla grabbed her bag and walked to the door with Bonnie following leaving an amused Elena and shocked Stefan, plus some randoms behind.
"Kayla" Bonnie started laughing as she though about Tanners face "What's his problem? This is literally the first week of school" "Your cousin had just outsmarted him and it left him butt hurt" Bonnie shrugged
"Man whatever, he acts like I constantly miss his class" "Well last year you did, you made it a bi-weekly holiday" "That was last year, and I still finish his class with a 100% I think he's jealous"
Bonnie bit back a smile "Mhmm of what?" "That he can't pull of a mini skirt like me, and that his football team is ass"
As Bonnie started laughing, Tyler came up beside Kayla and threw an arm around her "Who's football team is ass?"
"The one you play for" Kayla said bluntly "Oh the same one you cheer for?" Tyler questioned
Rolling her eyes Kayla threw Tyler's arm off her "Man don't talk to me till you and your brethren learn how to treat women"
"What? I haven't done anything to you?" Tyler looked at Bonnie confused who shrugged "She's mad at Stefan for not being some leaves"
"Well if it makes you feel better, I apologized to Vicki and I'll pick up some leaves for you myself" Tyler offered as he wrapped Kayla in a hug "Boy get off me and go to class"
"Love you too Kayla! Bye Bonnie" Tyler let go and called out as he walked backwards
Chuckling Bonnie looked at Kayla "You coming to practice today right? I've been trying to get ahold of Caroline but nothings working" "Yea, I'll be there. I've been trying to get Caroline to answer my calls and texts all morning. I'm tempted to cancel practice and go beat Caroline's ass but the game is tomorrow"
Kayla pulled out her phone and attempted to call Caroline only for it to ring straight into voicemail "Is this bitches phone off? I better not be blocked"
"Maybe her charger broke and she over slept, we can ask Elena, if we see her later" Bonnie suggested as the two walked into their next class "You know damn well we ain't finna see Elena, she too focused on her boyfriend...speaking of which what we're you saying earlier?" Kayla sat beside Bonnie in her chair
Bonnie sighed "It's nothing, I think I was just concerned about how fast the two were moving" "Baby they trauma bonded, yea they moving fast! Now stop playing and spill. You honestly felt something was off, what was it?"
Bonnie pulled out her notebook and showed it to Kayla "I've been writing these numbers over and over again, I keep getting these random flashes of memories or something in my head and I'm starting to think my grams might be telling the truth"
"And if she is that's okay. We won't look at you any differently, if you were a witch and caroline was a fire breathing vampire and me a fairy werewolf and Elena as like the Avatar, we'd all still be friends" Kayla grinned as Bonnie's frown turned into a smile
"A fire breathing Vampire, fairy werewolf and Avatar? What a power group we are"
