Chapter 31: Not what they seem

A starry night, a silent Dream, a calm mind. Janet slept peacefully after star gazing with Ace, in that whole hour of doing so, something scared and chased her nightmares away. But of course, her life never was peaceful, even if it was for a second, something, or in this case someone, would destroy it.

Her whole body sensed another presence in the room, one that was hard to detect. She woke up, but didn't move a muscle. 

She could only think of two people she knows who can lower their presence so much.

"Hello dull bitch" a voice came from next to her.

But she had forgotten one more person that would do that too. Janet rolled away from the voice, grabbed the knife from under her pillow and kneeled up in a defence position.

"don't be so on guard" says the man with shark like teeth that was the only thing visible besides his shadow

"Oscar?" She was confused, why would Oscar come here

"I missed you~" He slurred

He jumped onto the bed and started walking towards her, she stood up and backed away...and away..., his face was more visible as he was closer. Janet backed away until her back hit the wall.

"Did father send you?" she asked.

"hm? oh please, why would he send me to you" He says playing with his knife

"Personal space" She breaths, using the point of her knife to back him away, she finally pushed herself off the wall.

"You know, every since we met, you've got on my nerve everytime I need your face or hear your voice."

"Likewise" she jumped off the bed and walked towards the closet to get a robe, "why are you here if father didn't send you"

but before she could even open the closet, Oscar slammed it's door, turned Janet around and pulled she towards him by her collar

"You know, I've already gotten and urge to kill you"

"Father won't be happy" She said calmly 

"I don't take orders from him" Oscar started to get angry for some unknown reason

"Then who do you take orders from" Her voice lowered

"I don't want to answer you"

He was fast, he pushed her against the closet, raised his arm and stabbed the knife towards her. The speed of his action shocked her, causing Janet to close her eyes In shock. 

*Stab

Nothing stabbed into her face, or any part of her thankfully, she carefully opened her eyes, and from the corner of her vision she saw the knife stabbed into the closet. She sighed in relief, as a breeze entered the room sweeping her hair to the side. She directed her head to the opened balcony and flying curtains.

'What....just...happened'

The next morning Janet woke up, tired to the point where she couldn't open her eyes. "Didn't sleep?"

not needing to even look, Janet already knew it was Daniel

"Take me home"

Daniel frowned at her current state but nodded without questioning anything. 

They started walking out after packing all their stuff up in silence, Just as Daniel walked out first, a voice from behind them called out.

"Jan" Ace spoke
