The genre is too solid and old
She is questioned , oh so arrogant
Her character is a constant throw back and forth
With opinions not as true as it may sound
Let her agony be up

As it is finding comfort is  already scary
So let her be in her parade
Not shut by a raid
a raid in life , a raid in mind a raid in tears of course I am her and so then leave me and my defense

foilsick
whats the point of being African when ur not petty , do let her ding ding and sing songs  give you hic ups

Dear foilsick we know why you're ashamed

Let her be for over sharing to the poor stranger that has to listen

                     Written by OKAH ALAERE

As the teacher closes the book and faces the class with a fit posture and a large smile when a student raises her hand and the teacher points at her, go ahead Buchi

Mrs Uzoh what is the genre too solid and old, is it prose drama or literature, but I do remember you said in SS 2, such work could also be considered poetry

Teacher: but you're now in SS 3 Buchi, ask questions carefully, you should have rather asked who not what

Who is the genre too solid and old another student says astonished

Yes David who, the answer is Africa, in stanza three of the free verse it exposes the theme of being African which defines the poetic persona to be Africa her self .

Looking through the stanzas , I see the hidden truth behind the writer and the writers intensions of euphemism, trying to make it sound less intense, I raise my hand distressed wanting to speak up

Yes Anita the teacher says

Ma, I think foilsick signifies Africa's weakness of trust and when the writer said let her be for over sharing to the poor stranger that has to listen, is an irony as Africa's tone in this poem is anger

Tosin looks at the book then back at me with concern before he faces the teacher “yes ma irony because the poor neighbors are the exploiters themselves, listening to her just to take her trust and betray her, I can never do such to anyone that's just crueI besides that I like the way the writer used personification and apostrophe.”

Is it not still them that made all the rules to writing another student says

Whether the writer used personification free verse or assonance her point was to express her self that's what poetry is and is all about the teacher says

Can you see that Africa was also ashamed in the first verse in the couplet. Can we tune it to people being Ashamed of their weakness rather than embracing their strength.

I know the teacher is trying to change the idea due to the heat of the conversation but I have a say “but ma the same strengths were taken away by the so called neighbors that she welcomed, I don't understand why one has to be so  easy to persuade”

When did Africa welcome any neighbor another student ask

Tosin having my back or maybe seeing it for him self replies saying
Foilsick means over sharing information to people even the ones they barely know meaning the writer used foilsick to signify over friendliness even to the neighbors that appears out of the bloom
