five the water park incident

I SLIPPED ON my bikini. It was pink with a few splotches of purple and blue here and there. Then I grabbed my matching scrunchie and tied my hair up into a bun with it. I took a selfie and sent it to the group chat.

I don't like-like Robby.
Definitely not.

So then why does my heart beat faster at the mention of his name? Why did I get butterflies while reading his email?

Feelings are a confusing thing and will probably never be fully understood. Especially not by me, someone who mostly doesn't care about other's feelings too much.

Anyway I'm gonna stop because this stuff is hella boring. Fast forward to the water park.

I don't know why, but I'm nervous. My heart is beating as we set up the lounge chairs. I plopped down and put my sunglasses over my eyes to shield them from the sun. "Ahh," I said as I leaned back. "Nothing like a nice soak in the sun." Moon looked over to me with a smirk.

"Actually, there are better things. Like food."

"I can't hear you..."

Sam had just pulled out a novel and was totally absorbed by it. I shook her and she looked over at me. "...what?" she slurred with a glare. I pointed at Anthony who seemed to be mesmerized by Moon.

"Ew, Anthony can you not stare at my friends?" she said sternly while looking at him. He looked embarrassed. "Oh um, no I wasn't uh—" he paused, "staring." He jogged off to avoid any more interrogation. Moon giggled.

Yazmine pointed at him. "He's starting highschool in the fall, right?" Before anyone could respond, she continued, "Let's torture him. Tell him I asked if he's been working out."

We all giggled except Sam, who looked disgusted. "Ew, you guys are so gross and I want no part of this."

"So, Sam," Moon tried changing the subject, "How's the whole Eat Pray Love journey going?"

Sam smiled to herself. "It's actually been a lot better than I expected. It's been kinda nice to just focus on myself, without all the karate or relationship drama."
