Chapter 27

"Let's talks business." I clasp my hands together as i look around the table at my family.

Its boxing day, and as much as i'd love to be in bed next to Florence right now, my Uncle wouldnt come if it wasn't important.

"You know we wouldn't be here if it wasn't absolutely necessary but I couldn't trust calls and texts not to be listened to or read." Uncle looks tense as he looks at his sons.

"There's word out on the streets of not just New York But Chicago that Juan head of the Havanas is going to make a hit on you and soon." Sebastian speaks up.

"This isn't news to me, I know he's been planning for a while. I've been keeping surveillance on him so what's the news?" I ask confused of the information I already have.

"We weren't worried about that part, we know you can take care of yourself. The part that concerned us was him planning on whether to take just you or something or someone else you care about." Damien adds.

It makes sense, if they took just me I wouldn't care and wouldn't give anything up. I'd die and Cole would take over the Italian mafia in New York, the paperwork is already signed by blood oath. But if they use someone I care about to sign new paperwork it could work.

"That's smart of them to use their brains for once" I reply calmly. It doesn't scare me since I have the best security for everyone I care about, I can count on one hand.

"You need to be careful Aaron, if they take someone like Cole or your close soldiers it won't matter as much since you know they'd give their lives in a second but putting Florence, Vienna or Jessica in a situation like that is different and they know that too. The rumour going around is that they'll be taking a girl from you, our guess is Vienna since they know about her but we cant be too sure." Benny looks concerned, Vienna has always been family to him.

"So what do you suggest I do?" I ask for my uncles advice since he has had more time to digest this than I have.

"Split the girls up between each of us so we can personally have eyes on them at all times, I don't trust your soldiers enough to keep them safe, they can easily be bought out. You keep Florence here, Cole will go to London with Jessica and We will take Vienna back to Chicago with us. Since she is the main suspected target it will be better since there is four of us to watch her back." His plan is clever and strategic, but I know the girls will hate it.

"When will this plan be put into action?" I ask knowing Flo's birthday is in under a week and wanted to be with everyone.

"Preferably sooner than later. If I was you i'd make it happen tomorrow. We got the news two days ago and came right away, we don't know how much time till they act and its not safe them all together it is too easy to grab one of them." Damien answers the question knowing I hate the answer.

"Can't we just wait until after new years and then we will split them all, you know they'll all be devastated if they won't get to celebrate together." I try to reason with my uncle.

I know it's for their safety, but I don't want to look at Florence's eyes if she finds out she can't celebrate her birthday with the girls and Cole.

As much as I don't care if they're not here, I saw the way they lit up when she sat round the dinner table yesterday. She is a big family person, this will break her and push her away from me.

"I think we have to do it boss, as much as I know it'll upset Florence i'd rather her see another birthday than be taken away from us, I can get the Jet ready for tomorrow to fly back with Jess to London and you fuckers can get going ASAP." Cole speaks for the first time in this meeting, he doesn't speak much in meetings, so when he does i know he means it.
