"Wow...what is this?," Sita asked while Anvi passed a food box to her. Sita and Anvi were sitting in Sita's room. Anvi was back home for pug phera.

"Kheer, you and Rudra love kheer so I made it as my first cook in my kitchen." She said proudly.

"You bought it for me as well?" It was more like a statement rather than a question.

"Of course you are my nanad, a part of that family, so you and Gola both should taste it and compliment me." Anvi chirped with glee.

"Ahh..right" Sita ate a spoonful of kheer.

As soon as her tongue touched the kheer, she closed her eyes and a lone tear rolled down her cheek.

"Hey...didn't you like it?" Anvi panicked.

"It's a piece of heaven, Anvi. It just reminded me of all the Sunday breakfast you used to cook for us. Good old days" Sita said, gazing into nothingness. But soon she got up and went to her wardrobe. She took out a small box and sat near Anvi.

"This is my gift for you. The kheer was extremely yum.." Sita said with a grin.

"Pagal...why this gifting business…." Anvi protested.

"Shut up Anvi. I am two months and 10 days older than you. It's a ritual to give a gift after tasting the bride's first dish , isn't it?" She said sternly. "These are my old earrings. I promise, if I ever earn my own money I will give you whatever you want. Till then you will have to adjust with my old pair of earrings, bhabhi" She emphasized on bhabhi.

"But these are the only jewelry you own Sita" Avni said with tears in her eyes.

"Idiot, why are you crying? You are worth more than a piece of gold." Sita said with a smile."So what's the plan for today?"

"I was thinking about spending the day with  you. Tell me what do you want to do? You only have time till evening. Rurda will pick me up at 7" Anvi said.

"Common Anvi, you can relax a bit. Past  week was so hectic for you. As for me, I have lots of work. And this little demon would never let me sit at one place for long" She said while pointing towards a sleeping Gola. "Go and relax."

The day rolled by with bidding some of the relatives goodbye, helping a super busy Sita and just lazing around.

"Aree, you sit here." Anita masi pulled Anvi to sit beside her in the living room. She was Anvi's mother's sister. Anvi never liked her. She was as cunning as the fox. She loved gossip. Anvi particularly did not like the fact that Anita's gossip face was on and the living room was packed with relatives and family.

"I was so shocked to know that your husband is that woman's brother. If you wanted to get married you should have told me, I would have got you such a nice guy. If only you would have told me." Anita made a thoughtful face. Anvi's head shot up towards her mother. She was trying to convey her displeasure without words. But…

"You know how that woman trapped our son and you went for her brother? Really, I think you could have done much better. Anyways, what's done is done. But remember this, do not sign on any paper without reading it or do not keep your belongings here and there ... .you never know with these people ...." before Anita could finish her statement Anvi's mother interrupted.

"Anu..Rudra is nothing like ..em..her. He is a nice man…." Anvi's mother said in a nervous tone.

"But…" Anita tried.

"But nothing masi. Thank you so much for your concern but my husband is the best I could have ever imagined and that woman you are talking about is my best friend, my sister and my nanad. I am sure there is a misunderstanding because neither my husband nor my nanad is like what you just described." Anvi's voice was laced with venom but her face had an extra sweet smile. "Now if you may excuse me" She stormed towards her room.

It was 6:30 in the evening. Sita and Anvi were busy sorting and packing all the gifts.

"Anvi di, jiju is here" a cousin of Anvi came into the room. She did not acknowledge Sita at all.

"You leave, I am coming," Anvi said. Once her cousin was out of the room Anvi got up and helped Sita zip the suitcase.

"Sita, can you grab my handbag while I take this suitcase to the living room?" She asked with a puppy face. She knew Sita would never go anywhere near Rudra but Anvi wanted her to find her peace. She wanted an intact family.

As she dragged the suitcase to the living room, Rudra got up from the couch and rushed towards Anvi. He took the suitcase from her.

"You should have called me." He whispered.

"Awwwww.. so romantic " one of the cousins chirped. Anvi's cheeks started heating up as she took a seat.

"Rudra how is Keshvji" Anvi's father asked.

"Papa is fine. Just a bit tired" Rudra replied with a smile.

"Rudra drinks the tea before it turns cold" Anvi's mother said."Sita, bring a cup of tea for Anvi as well" She said in a fake sweet voice. Sita immediately turned back toward the kitchen.

"Mum, I do not want anything. Sita, you come and sit here." Anvi patted the seat beside her. Sita's eyes widened. She did not move.

"Unc...I mean Papa, about Sita, I wanted to take her and Gola along with me for a few days. You know I will be leaving in 10 days, so I wanted to spend some time with her." Rudra said while looking at Sita.

Sita was stunned was an understatement. She froze like a statue. She could not believe her own ears. She was so sure that this was a dream. Her eyes darted towards Raghuveer who was himself in a state of shock.

"Wh..why not. She can go anytime she wants" Anvi's father responded with tears in his eyes. "Sita..go baccha..pack your bag."

Sita did not move from her place.

"I will help her pack" Anvi got up from her place and moved towards Sita. She grabbed her hands and dragged her towards Sita's room. She pushed her on a chair and made her drink some water.

"Anvi...a..am.I...I dr...dreaming?" Sita's voice quivered.

"No nanadji. You are going back home" Anvi smiled.
