Time flies while you're working for Bob, finding three months pass by faster than when you were in the military. You take care of the online and money aspects of the restaurant and even found Bob had earned a hefty sum from his taxes that hadn't been filed well. It was pretty awesome to see how excited he got. Apparently he's been wanting to change the grill out for years. Julie and You have become pretty fast friends. Once you both got over the awkward hump of introductions you both found you had a lot of similar interests. You even find out she has a set of five year old twins that she's a single mom to.

"Miss Y/N!" The boy and girl twins grin when they come running into the restaurant.

"Can we have your shakes? Pretty please?!" Beverly, the girl twin pleads.

"But I want a burger!" Connor, the boy twin, cries.

"You'll each get half of each," Julie tells her children. "Now, sit at the bar and behave. Don't distract Y/N too much."

"You know they're never any trouble," You tease her with a smile.

"You're one to talk," She huffs with a smile, grabbing her apron.

The twins spend the day at the bar chatting with you while their mom bustles about. Everyone discovered you make a killer milkshake and Bob insisted on adding it to the menu which thrilled everyone. He'd agreed to split the income from the shakes in half when you tried insisting he didn't need to give you all the money the restaurant makes off the shakes. So, half goes to you and the other half to the restaurant. Once the end of the day comes you're able to help clean up some of the restaurant, mostly wiping things down since that's easiest while you're on your crutches.

"Mister Bob! Your burger is the best as always!" Connor grins when Bob finally leaves the now clean kitchen.

"I'm sorry, Miss Y/N's milkshakes are the best," Beverly tells everyone with pink cheeks.

"Both are fantastic," Julie can't help but chuckle. Her twins have their favorite and neither are afraid to defend their feelings either.

"Thank you both!" Bob says with a hearty laugh. "I aim to please all of my customers!"

"Miss Y/N? You look tired," Beverly suddenly blurts out, everyone's attention falling on you.

"D-Do I? Must be dehydrated," You try to lie, your cheeks flushed in embarrassment as you sink into your seat.

"Ya haven't been sleep in' well?" Bob is the first to conclude.

"Is there something wrong?" Julie presses gently.

"N-No! I'm just.....doing therapy. We're diving into some heavy stuff," You admit to them. "Nightmares."

"Do you want Mister Smiles?" Beverly asks, holding out her stuffed Cheshire Cat to me.

"No sweetie, but thank you," You chuckle. "I'm okay though. Sorry to worry you."

The twins really can read you like a book. Bob gives you a gentle smile and you immediately advert your gaze as you only become redder. Since working with Bob your feelings for him have only continued to grow. You want to ask him out but you're too scared of possibly being rejected. Plus, it might make things awkward between the two of you if he doesn't feel the same. You're silent on the way home from work as you just stare out the window, watching the small town go by.

"Penny 'fer ya thoughts?" Bob calls out, glancing over at you.

"Do you think I'm unlovable?" You suddenly blurt out, now definitely avoiding looking at Bob.

"Has someone told you that?" Bob presses with a low growl.

"As I talk to my therapist I'm realizing how fucked up some things were. Things I shrugged off have been manifesting for years and now it's suddenly spilling out. There's so much wrong with me," You breathe, squeezing your eyes shut as hot tears fill your eyes.
