Uh Oh

"Bob! I'm heading out!" You call from the kitchen, grabbing Bob's keys off the hook on the wall.

"Yer runnin' from me already? It's only been two weeks!" He gasps as he comes in from the living room. "Can't believe ya only lasted two weeks.0

"We need groceries dummy," You tease back with a laugh. "Unless you're planning to eat me once I starve to death."

"Ya know there's only one way I like ta eat ta," He purrs, cornering you against the wall. "If ya know what I mean."

"Bob!" You protest with flushed cheeks, giving him a glare. "As fun as that would be you know I have lunch with the girls too."

"But I'm gonna perish if I don't get lunch," He whines.

"Good thing I made your favorite ramen for lunch then. Just the way you like it," You chuckle giving his lips a peck. "I love you."

"Fine. I love you too," He grumbles, releasing you from his hold after stealing about kiss.

"Maybe we can do desert before dinner," You smirk, enjoying the way his eyes light up with excitement.

"I'll be as a patient as I can. We might do dinner early," He tells you with a grin. "Don't stay gone too long."

"I'll see you in a bit!" You tell him before turning towards the door.

You wave to Bob before heading out, a content smile on your face. When you get back you want to talk to Bob about something that's been on your mind. You enjoy having your own home but there's not much point in you both being together all the time and living in separate homes. So, you want to talk to him about moving in together. You're more than happy to leave your apartment and just move into his home with him if he prefers that. Plus, you two are engaged now! It only makes sense for you both to be living together.

You park the truck when you get to the restaurant, heading inside to join your friends. Settling down at the table with a smile. Everyone smiles and greets you as you sit down at the table, excited to finally be able to be in person and show off your ring. You had posted about it online but you're excited to show off the ring. Bob was so careful and caring when he picked it out, giving you everything you've ever dreamed of with the engagement ring. He really does pay attention to you.

"Finally!" Lila grins at you. "We've been dying to see the ring!"

Let's just say you and Bob have been very busy since your engagement so no one has really seen the two of you these past two weeks. Your cheeks go a little red at the thought so you hide it by holding out your left hand to show off the ring.

"This must have cost a fortune!" Juane gasps as she admires the ring. "Damn girl. Where can I get a man to drop that cash on me?!"

"That's part of the reason I married my husband," Carmen declares. "It's not as big as my wedding ring but it was still massive. I say a man should always make sure the engagement ring is extravagant."

"It's not about the money. He just pays attention. Plus, this is my engagement ring and wedding ring. I'm just getting another band to match Bob's and complete the set. I'd have been happy if all he got me was a quarter machine ring," You tell her.

"You say that, but money is important," Carmen huffs.

"It's helpful," You reply, taking a sip of your drink. "But like I said. I'd be happy with anything from that man."

"Hope you're ready to give up your sex life. Especially after kids. It's all gone from there," Carmen sighs.

You grimace slightly, thankful when the waitress comes over to take everyone's' orders. You and Bob haven't really talked about having kids either. You're fine now thanks to your IUD but it's something to consider when you both think you might want them. You're happy regardless. You're neither here nor there when it comes to wanting kids, but maybe plans will change further down the road.

"So, when are you going to move in together?" Patty asks you to change the subject. "You have a ring on your finger now so it has to be soon."

"We still need to decide whose place we want to do it at but I was planning on talking to him about it tonight. No need to go back and forth," You explain. "I just hope he's ready."

"He's asked you to marry him. Of course he's ready," Lila chuckles. "If he says no that would be a red flag."

"True," You hum as the rest of the girls nod their heads in agreement. "I'm going over there for dinner again but I need to go shopping first."

"Figure out what you want to say and how you want to ask him while you're doing it just don't drive yourself crazy with it," Carmen tells you.

"Agreed. It's nothing to go crazy over. He's bound to be ready as well," Lila tells you. "It'll be fine."

"Thanks. That helps a lot," You tell them with a smile.

Once the food arrives you all enjoy the rest of your lunch together before you head to the store. Bob let you borrow his truck today while he stayed home. Although, he always lets you borrow the truck whenever you want to drive. You won't have a vehicle of your own since most of the time you were back from deployment someone else always drove you places. It wasn't that you didn't like driving, you just didn't see the point in buying a car that's just going to sit there while you were on deployment.

He said he had some work he needed to take care of anyway so he didn't mind losing the truck for the day. He's probably catching up on butchering meat or something. You hum softly as you walk up and down the aisles getting everything you and Bob need, as well as things for the meals you had both planned for the week. You get a bunch of snacks as well and head to the checkout. Once you're finished you load everything into the truck once you're to it and head home. You're surprised when Bob doesn't immediately come out to help you like he always does. Guess he had a lot more work than you realized. You get everything inside and then unloaded but Bob still doesn't show up to help you.

"Bob?" You call out to him. "Are you home?"

Where could he have gone? As far as you know he has no other vehicle here and he would have told you if he was expecting company or heading out to hang out with anyone. You search the house wondering if maybe he took a nap or figure out where he decided to take his work to. Simone come and pick him up maybe? Weird, usually he tells you if he's heading anywhere.

You frown when you can't seem to find Bob anywhere in the house, let alone a sign he's even been in the house for the day. You obviously had his truck and you find his wallet in the same place he always leaves it. You step outside again your eyes go to the storm cellar. Maybe he's down there? You remember him asking you not to go down there but it's important that the two of you talk. There's been something on your mind and you really want to talk to Bob about it. You'll apologize later. You open the door and then descend down the stairs, pushing through one of the plastic curtains.

"Hey Bob!" You call out as you walk down the dark hallway, knocking on the door at the end.

You knock a couple more times but you still don't get a response and you can't really hear inside of the place. You frown when you still get no answer, deciding to say fuck it and opening the door. You smile when you see Bob all bloody from butchering, your eyes going to the animal currently under the knife. Probably a cow. Your heart seems to freeze as your body feels like it goes ice cold when you look at the item being butchered. You stare in disbelief at the thing below the knife, stumbling back and knocking over a bucket. Bob's drooling face turns towards you before it pales, feeling your own face pale just as much. Uh oh. You're both silent as you just stare at each other for a short while on. Bob sets down the cleaver and holds up bloody hands, taking a step towards you. You listen to your instincts and bolt from the room, Bob's feet loud behind you.

"Darlin' wait! Give me a chance to explain!" He yells.

No way, you know what you saw and it's best if you get out of here. You stumble up the stairs and run for Bob's truck, the keys still in it from the trip you took to the grocery store. You fumble to get the door open and climb inside, glancing out the rear view as you twist the key in the ignition. It stutters but does start up after a minute, a scream leaving you at the bang on the hood. Bob's blue eyes meet yours as you panic and throw the truck into gear. You mean to throw the truck in reverse but when you slam down on the gas pedal you're sent lurching forward, running over Bob in the process. You get a few feet before slamming on the brakes, your eyes wide as you look at Bob's body in the mirror. Holy shit! What did you just do?!
