It had been a few days since Sophie had started moving her stuff in and to say I was excited was an understatement. Hanging out with her outside of work was even more fun. We stayed up one night drinking wine and eating some take out. Her boxes were slowly leaving the living room and making their way into her room.

"Okay, I think we should get a cute rug for out here. Oh! And maybe a few plants!" I giggled at her as she designed the living room on a sketch pad. "I can't take care of plants!" She rolled her eyes. "We will get a white board for the fridge and schedule watering times." I nodded and thought about it. "That might actually help." She smiled and tapped her pencil to her head. "It's because I'm a genius." I snorted and rolled my eyes, standing up to walk into the kitchen. "Dork." She giggled and continued her plans for the living room. "We should look at better couches." I froze, this couch was nice but it held memories. Why did I even take it with me? "Is that okay?" She asked slowly. I turned with a smile on my face. "Yeah! We should go and look for some soon." She eyed me suspiciously and nodded. "Okay..." I sighed in relief that she had dropped it for now but I couldn't help but feel like she would ask about it later. "What color scheme do we want to go for?" I looked around the minimalistic living room, it needed color, it needed life. "Something colorful, it's so dull here." She laughed at my response. "Very true."

We went over the living room design and it honestly looked pretty good. We would have a cute fluffy pink rug under the coffee table, couch, and love seat, then we would have a black coffee table and for extras we'd have a few plants, candles, books from the both of us and a speaker. She wanted to bring out more color so we talked about hanging pictures. Thankfully we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted. I sighed and leaned back on the couch. "So why are you hesitant on getting a new couch?" I bit the inside of my cheek and sighed. "It's not that I don't want a new couch. It's just this couch had a lot of memories, I mean it's a pretty new couch but I just..." I felt my eyes burn with tears. "I'm fine with getting a new couch, Soph. I need to get rid of my old things anyway, start new." She smiled and patted my hand. "If you ever feel comfortable talking about it, I'm here for you." I smiled at her. "Thanks, Soph. Same to you." She smiled and got up, stretching her arms above her head. "Let's head to bed, we have work tomorrow." I laughed as she helped me up from the couch. She did it effortlessly which shocked me, she was muscular and tall don't get me wrong but I am on the thicker side. How did she have that much muscle? I shook my head and got ready for sleep.

Thankfully it was nice getting ready with her in the morning. She wasn't a morning person and neither was I. She groaned as she closed her eyes and leaned against the door frame. "Stupid job, stupid money, stupid living." She mumbled. I giggled. "I know." I brushed my teeth and put my hair up. "Your hair is so pretty, Sel!" I smiled. "Thanks, Soph. Yours is too!" She smiled an evil smile. "What?" She didn't say anything except look me up and down. "What?!" She laughed. "Do you think Viola will be out at any clubs tonight?" I looked at her. "Viola?" Her face fell. "Yeah the woman from the coffee shop?" I stared at her, shocked. "How do you know her name?" She smiled. "We need it for the coffee order aaaaand it was on her card." I laughed. "We'll I don't know, why?" She shrugged and walked away. "Soph?" Her footsteps got further away. "Sophie!"

My heart was thumping in my chest. Sophie had decided we go get dresses and head to a club that she knew. I had seen Viola a few more times since Sophie had recommended going out. She said her hope was that Viola would be there and see me in a very revealing dress but she mostly wanted to leave the apartment and get away from moving her stuff for a while. I chewed my lip as I stared at the dark blue dress, it hugged my curves and made me look better than I actually looked, it showed cleavage and had a slit on the left leg. "Come on! You didn't let me see it in the store!" I sighed and slipped on my high heels and let my hair down, it fell into light waves from me having it in a heatless curler. "Don't laugh!" I opened the door and turned. "So?" She stared at me, her mouth slightly open. "Is it bad?" She quickly shook her head. "Girl, what the fuck?! No! You look amazing!" I felt my cheeks heat up. "Not as amazing as you." She rolled her eyes. "Take the compliment, dork." I smiled and grabbed my purse. "Thank you, Soph." She smiled and offered her arm. "Let's go!" I laughed and linked our arms.

The music felt like it was going to pop my eardrums. It was nice to be out of the house, to be around other people. I slowly sipped my coke and watched as Sophie danced chaotically on the dance floor. I couldn't help the laugh I let out as she tried twerking. "Hey you!" I turned and saw Viola. Her hair was half up half down and she was wearing a really nice suit. It made her look even taller. I was guessing she was taller than me by five or six inches and I was already on the shorter side at five foot three. To be honest, I didn't know I needed to see her in a suit. "Hey!" She smiled and made her way over. "What are you doing here?" I pointed to the poorly dancing woman. "Sophie, she said we should get out." Viola nodded her head. "Yeah I bet. It's nice seeing you outside of work, don't get me wrong you in your work uniform is pretty cute." My face flushed. She was just being nice. "Whatever!" She laughed and leaned against the bar. "I will say this is even better." She looked me up and down and my heart started racing. Holy shit. What was happening? Was she flirting with me? No way...I laughed and lightly pushed her arm. "Oh stop, I am nothing compared to you." She raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Have you seen the way these people are staring at you?" I rolled my eyes again. "If you keep doing that your eyes are going to roll away." I had to physically stop myself from doing it again. She laughed and grabbed my hand. "I'm teasing, let's dance." I shook my head. "No, no, no! I saw how Sophie dances and I'm scared. I don't want to dance like that." She laughed and dragged me to the dance floor. "I don't think you will." My heart was thumping. Last time I had done this was a few years ago. Her hands moved to my waist and I immediately felt confidence surge through my body. I slowly started swaying my hips and turned around, my hands finding her shoulders. Electricity seemed to hit the spots she touched. She leaned forward, her lips lightly brushing my ear. "I told you so." I pushed myself into her and swayed with the music. The music didn't seem as loud anymore, her hands on my waist and the tingling that was spreading through my body was enough to block it out. Dancing made me forget for a moment, made me forget that I would probably see her again and be super embarrassed, made me forget the pain I had been feeling. When she spun me around I saw a familiar face. I felt the nerves and anxiety coming back as the confidence left me. I slowly moved away from her, she looked at me confused. "What's wrong?" I smiled. "Nothing, I'm tired! I'm gonna go home!" I yelled over the music. She nodded her head, her hand placing itself on the small of my back. "Okay, we should get your friend." I nodded and found Soph sitting at the bar, water in her hand. "Hey you!" I smiled at her. "I'm tired." She nodded and set her water in her lap. "Me too, we've been here for while." I nodded and went to look at the time but Viola had her watch in front of me. The small gesture made my heart race, and also made me aware of how close she was to me. Her watch read midnight and I quickly grabbed her wrist and pulled it closer to my face. "Midnight?! Holy shit!" Viola chuckled and I turned to her. "I had so much fun but I really have to go." She went to say something but I was already grabbing Sophie's hand. "Bye!" We made it outside and I felt every feeling I had inside leave my body, anxiety stepping into its place. I tried calming myself as I waved down a taxi. Soph got in first and as I was getting in I heard a voice that sent shivers down my spine. "Sel?" I quickly got into the taxi and closed the door behind me. "Do you know her?" I looked to see the woman staring at me in shock. "No." The taxi drove off leaving my shocked ex girlfriend standing alone.
