The kid was funny. I enjoyed talking with her, especially while I was dying of boredom in one of Cap's useless meetings. We had spent months tracking a vigilante though I didn't understand why considering they had done nothing wrong. 

"Who were you texting?" Clint asked as I walked out of the meeting room.

"Nonya." I walked past him.

"Who's nonya?" he asked.

"Nonya business." I slammed the door of my bedroom in his face. I pulled my clothes off, preparing for a shower.

Clint pov

Nat doesn't smile. That's all I'm gonna say, but she was smiling at her phone.

Who on her phone was so captivating that they managed to make her smile?

I don't know which is why I'm gonna find that out. 

I snuck into her room once I heard the curtain of the shower close back. She left her phone outside, thank god. 

I saw she had two new messages from a kid named J.J. I copied down her phone number and left her phone where it was, untouched.

I turned my phone off. I heard loud footsteps going upstairs.

The door to my room slammed off its hinges.

I tucked my phone into a small hole I had made in the mattress.

Ed dragged me off my bed. He pulled my hair and he inched down, his mouth js barely razing my ear.

"Go and settle in for bed" he whispered into my ear.

I swallowed the lump in my throat and went into his room. I sat on the lumpy mattress desperately wanting my life to end.
