Tiningnan niya muna ang first and last date ng naturang diary. There were 53 journal entries. The last entry was made over a year ago.

“Ay,  medyo hindi na pa la relevant ito.” Yet still he continued to read the second journal entry.

“Buti pala medyo may mahina din siya sa numbers, ayun we ended up being classmates sa Math 105. Ipakikilala ko sa iyo, siya si William. William the Great. Joke. I won’t tell his surname.

“Siyangaps,Si Paul ang magiging anak namin. In real life, he was a good friend of mine. I scribbled his name kasi siya ang nagre-recite sa klase nun sa Botany 100. The one I’m saying sa iyo eh yung kaklase ko ngayon sa summer kasi bumagsak ako sa Math 105.”

“Daming lalake sa buhay ng babaeng ito ah at so taga College of Arts siya. Ooh,” sabi ng binata, as if he was reading a blind item in the tabloid.

Feeling not guilty sa kanyang ginagawa, he proceeded to read the first few days ng diary.

“Una niya akong kinausap! Yieeeeeee. Feeling ko me gusto rin siya sa akin. So there I was, sitting sa balcony ng college when he approached me, ang sabi niya ‘Magkaklase ba tayo sa Math 105?. I froze, grabe, bakit siya unang kakausap sa akin? Grabe na ito friend. Sobra. Sa sobrang excitement ko, ang nasabi ko lang ay oo. Para pa akong litang. Happy

“Dapat pala nag accountancy tong babaeng to eh. Puro assumptions!” sabi ng binata. “Pero di siya prudent.” But he was thinking the same thing noong nakipagdate siya sa crush niya noong  Lantern Festival. Only to be dumped at maglasing.

“I sat beside him sa klase. For what reasons?

“Pumaparaan” sabi ni Jayson sa kanyang sarili.

“So we chatted about things. Siya pala ay taga Talavera. Ako ay taga San Jose. Meant to be talaga. Bakit? Kasi, nagtagpo kami sa gitna. Dito

“Lame analogy girl. Teka, mamaya na nga ako mag side comment”

“He called me by my nickname, ‘Abby, may kasabay ka sa lunch? Ayos lang sumabay?’ What would you expect me to say?! Haha. We did it. Sa Jollibee pa. Treat niya. Dinedate na ata ako eh. Bilis ah. I learned that he was always on the sunny side of life. Masaya siya palagi, ako pa- demure. Kunwari. Kasi, baka maturn off siya. How would I tell him that I believe in kissing in the rain, ganito at ganyan.”

“Naïve.” Sabi ng binata. He continued reading.

“He walked me towards home that day. I thought hahalikan niya pa ako. Which I waited. But then, maaga pang masyado. My God, one day palang kaming magkakilala! I danced all alone papunta sa kwarto. Napansin ni Mommy iyon, she warned me. I admit I am not a pretty girl but I am the average. William was way too much, he was like, the Mr. College of Arts. Ako? Average looks. Average intellect na may diary na ginagawa. And doing this is normal too. Hey, I am a 16 year old teen, anong aasahan mo? I am looking forward for tomorrow. I hope. I hope. He will make his moves para masagot ko na siya. Hihi. PS: Hindi ako committed. Adik. NBSB ako.

“So, a story is about to begin.” Sabi ng binata. “Bakit kaya ganoon? Wait. I know William Mendez, I know him. Kaso hindi ko alam course niya. As if I am interested by the way. And the girl was at my age. She must be there. Day 4 na ako ng diary niya. Damnit sabi ko, mamaya na ako magco comment eh!”
