I was woke up from the floor. I could feel a cloth tied on my abdomen. The place was completely dark. As I tried to wake up, my stomach hurted. Suddenly, I heard a sound of anklets. It was heading towards me. I searched for my dagger but I couldn't find it in the dark. The sound of the anklets echoed through the place. I couldn't tell pinpoint the origin of it. Suddenly, as I turned around, I saw a woman holding an olden time fire torch. The woman's face glowed in the light.

Dhruv broke out of his dream breathing heavily. Despite the woman facing him and keeping a torch, Dhruv still couldn't make out her face. It was hard to remember. It was like her face was blurred.

The next day, Dhruv kept thinking about the dream. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't remember the woman's face.

"Akanksha, I've been thinking, Director Neelam has a mind of a genius." Aayush said.

"Yeah, I know right. He came up with such a wonderful storyline. His concept of dreams are just amazing." She said.

That caught Dhruv's attention. He remembered the plot of the movie about the memories of past life. Dhruv was a spiritual person, but he didn't believe for sure that past lives is a true concept.

At the set, Dhruv went to Director Neelam with a request.

"Neelam sir, can I meet you alone in today's break? I have a few questions in my mind." Dhruv asked.

The director smiled and agreed.

At the break, Dhruv and Director Neelam met each other alone. A suspicious Akanksha sent Aayush to spy on them.

"What did you want to ask me Dhruv?" Director Neelam asked.

"Sir, I was curious about how you came up with the plot of this movie. Memories that come in the form of dreams." Dhruv asked.

Suddenly, Director Neelam gage a mysterious smile. He turned towards Aayush who immediately hid when he saw him.

"I took the concept from a real life case." Neelam replied turning back to Dhruv.

"A real life case? You mean that you believe that past lives exist?" Dhruv asked.

"Of course I do. I personally believe that past lives exist. That's what inspired me to direct this movie." Neelam replied.

The elderly man was probably the only one who would believe Dhruv's words.

"So, can past lives come in your dreams?" Dhruv asked.

"Dreams can act as a medium of reminding memories from past life. The memories as stored in your subconscious mind. Dreams simply help you have access to it." Neelam replied.

"Sir, there is something I need to say. I've been having these dreams..." Dhruv explained while Neelam listened calmly.

"No matter how hard I try, I can't remember the woman's face." He said.

"Maybe it's not time yet." Neelam said.

A puzzled Dhruv looked at the director for an explanation. However, Neelam didn't give an explanation and simply smiled.

"But, why cannot everyone remember their past lives? If they are memories in the subconsciousness, then shouldn't everyone remember their past lives? Why only specific people?" Dhruv asked.

Neelam smiled like Dhruv had asked the right question then.

"It can be due to any unfinished task or oath." Neelam replied as Dhruv listened to him with keen.

"Any unfinished task from the past life or any unfulfilled oath might be a reason for the memories to trigger." Neelam replied.

"But how will it affect us in this life? Why is it important to fulfill something that didn't even happen in this lifetime?" Dhruv asked anxiously.

"Seems like you have a lot of questions on your mind Dhruv. But I can't answer all of them. You'll have to find your own answers." Neelam replied.

Neelam kept staring at Dhruv and smiled at his reaction.

"You don't believe me, do you?" Neelam asked with a smile.

Dhruv smiled back at the director's observation.

"To be honest, I don't. I still don't believe that past lives exist. " Dhruv replied.

The Director chuckled.

"I don't expect you to. Who knows? You might believe it someday." The director shrugged with a smile.

No matter what happened, the director's smile never faded. Dhruv found it strange, but in a good way.

Dhruv and Neelam went back to the sets. Meanwhile, Akanksha dragged Aayush to asked what happened.

"What happened? What were they talking about?" Akanksha asked anxiously.

"Dhruv asked something to him about the plot of the movie. But before I could hear further, Director Neelam saw me so I moved more further back. From there, I couldn't hear a thing. All I could see was Dhruv distressed and Director smiling." Aayush filled in.

"Dhruv was distressed?" Akanksha asked.

"Seemed like it." Aayush replied.

Why would Dhruv meet Director Neelam alone to ask about the plot? He could have asked it in front of everyone. Or was it something more?

That night, during dinner, Dhruv was lost in thoughts about Director Neelam's words.

As Dhruv continued to eat, his mouth suddenly had a burning sensation. He looked down at the small pieces green chilli in his pickle.

"WATER!" Dhruv screamed as he looked at his empty glass and ran towards the kitchen in panic.

Niranjan, Shivani and Aayush in the dining room stared at Dhruv running back and forth for water. Shivani ran to help him in the kitchen while Akanksha smiled and continued eating. It was her job. Aayush saw it.

"Why'd you do that?!" He whispered to Akanksha.

"Well someone needs to wake him up from his trance." She whispered back with a shrug.

"Good job." Aayush said with a wink which was unexpected by Akanksha. The two smiled and did a low five under the table while Niranjan saw this and smiled helplessly.

When Dhruv went to sleep, the Director's words kept echoing inside his head in repeat mode. Even though he didn't believe Neelam's idea, that seemed like the only explanation for his questions.

No. I need to find a more logical explanation for this.

But he still kept thinking about it.

Even if I take this concept as true, an finished task? What could possibly be my unfinished task in my past life? What role does that woman play in it?
