Roses. A dozen of them behind Louis' back as he walks down the halls. He finally formulated a plan and he's currently putting into action.
In the past few weeks he's been up most of the night just thinking on the variety of ways he could confess his feelings. Most of the time he felt like nothing was enough or it was so not his style so he gave up on the idea and moved on. Being the person Louis is, he decides to turn to the internet for help. He thinks it's easy to just google ways to tell someone you like them but in the end he ends up with a pounding head. He's got more ideas than he knows to do with and he just can't seem to stick to one thing, so finally he decides that desperate times call for desperate measures.
"Louis?" Louis glances up and catches sight of Veronica now standing before him. Louis' dressed in sunglasses and a trench quote which explains why Veronica is looking at him like he's crazy. She looks confused, but also intrigued as Louis beckons her closer.
"You're here alone?"
"Yeah... you said I was supposed to." Veronica rolls her eyes like she can't believe Louis would think she was stupid enough to be followed.
"Good, good." He looks from left to right and then leans in. "I wanted to discuss something with you." He whispers. Veronica gives another eye roll and grabs the shades off of Louis' face.
"Cut the act Tomlinson and tell me why you called me here." Louis gives her a glare, but her stare is way more intimidating. Louis sighs and closes his eyes, readying himself for what he's about to admit to Harry's friend.
"I wike Hawwy." He mumbles. Veronica scrunches her nose, leaning in further.
"I'm sorry what was that?"
"I said 'I life Hadee.'" Louis breathes, he knows Veronica can't understand him, but he can't seem to say the words right.
"Louis I swear if you don't enunciate-" Veronica threatens and Louis' eyes go wide before he's shouting, "I like Harry okay!!!" He quickly scans the room to make sure no one else is around and then he stares back at Veronica who looks astounded at his revelation.
"You," She points a manicured finger at his chest. "Like Harry?" She nudges him a bit and that gets Louis to laugh a little at the current situation.
"Yeah I do." It isn't long before Veronica is jumping for joy, doing some weird happy dance with this news.
"I knew it. I knew you liked him." She twirls, fist bumping the air and acting like she owns the world. Louis has to stop her before he forgets why she called her here.
"Yes okay now that we've established that. I need help." Her expression is serious as she studies Louis' face.
"With what?"
"I need to figure out a way to tell him. I just can't seem to think of a clever way to do it." Veronica chuckles as she crosses her arms against her front.
"Who said it needs to be clever?"
"Every teen romance movie ever." He says it like it's obvious, but he's starting to think that he's looking at this all wrong.
"It doesn't have to be clever. It just has to be sweet." Louis takes a moment to consider this. Sweet huh? He can do sweet.
"So it doesn't have to be some flash mob in the school's football field where I sing to him through the giant speaker?" Veronica snorts, covering her mouth before looking at Louis again.
"Not everything is like 10 Things I Hate About You." She chuckles again before placing her hand on his shoulder. "Just think simple. You'll be fine. Short and sweet that's the best." Louis nods and keeps that in mind as the month changes into February.
On the fourteenth of February, he finally has his plan. And he's currently setting it in motion.
He continues to walk down the halls, watching out for a tall boy in a sweater vest and glasses. He finally sees him when he's nearing the lockers, rummaging through his books to grab the correct textbook. Louis waltzes up to him, gulping as he thinks about what's happening next. He lets Harry grab his last book before he's taking any action, pushing the flowers into Harry's chest with his eyes closed. He can hear Harry gasp and he's even more nervous as he feels Harry touch the flowers.
"They're so pretty." He compliments, retracting his hand. Louis blinks his eyes open, seeing Harry with his head bent at an angle in question. "Who are they for?" Louis has to laugh at that, albeit worriedly, because of course Harry would.
"There for you silly." Harry cocks his head to the left, even more confused.
"Me?"
"Yes you." Harry holds them tentatively, observing them with admiration, and noticing the small card tucked into the roses. He plucks it up, examining it to see what exactly it is. "Open it." Louis prompts. Harry flips it open and his dimples come out as he reads the card.
"Be my Valentine?" He says aloud. Louis blushes. It sounded good in his head, but now he feels like its backfiring. Why did he think this would work? He sneaks a look back at Harry who is just staring at Louis, a new look in his eyes. Harry wraps his arms around Louis' neck, the flowers soft on the hairs at the base of his neck, but also a bit cold from the droplets of water still present. Louis stares up at Harry who seems to getting closer by the second. "I'd love to." He closes the gap, planting a soft kiss on Louis' lips. Louis has his eyes open in shock because what? Harry actually said yes.
He lets himself close his eyes then, relishing in the fact that Harry feels the same. Harry guides the kiss, leaving small soft kisses on his lips every other second before lingering for a moment or two. Louis knew Harry's lips would be soft, but not this soft. They feel like clouds, seemingly making him feel like he's floating high off of the ground. The whirlwind of emotion is there, the butterflies all fluttering in Louis' tummy but, Louis feels like all is right the world because he has Harry by his side.
