It was a Sunday.

Jungkook was sitting on the sofa, reading a book that Namjoon had lent to him. He wasn't really understanding the plot too well as of yet but he stuck with it so things would fall into place later. After finishing the chapter he was on he put the novel down, getting up to get some water before remembering he hadn't collected this week's mail. With a sigh he slipped on his grey bunny slippers the hyungs had bought him for Christmas last year as apparently he resembled one, but he didn't see it.

He trudged down the stairs, not bothering the lift, and headed for the mail rack, his hands automatically going for his little mailbox and removing the letters.

Bills, some more bills, work notices that could just be emailed to him but the world loves to waste paper doesn't it.

Jungkook huffed before turning away to head up for the stairs to get back into the warmth of his apartment before freezing on the stop.

Next to him, standing at her own mailbox, was none other than Park Seulbi.

She was wearing a floral dress, with sandals and her hair in a high ponytail.

She looked really pretty.

Jungkook didn't realise he was staring at her for so long until the girl turned around and raised an eyebrow at him.

"You didn't turn up that day," He blurted out, and her expression morphed into one that was unreadable.

"And?"

"And? Can I at least have a reason?" Jungkook took a step closer, and Seulbi crossed her arms.

"I was busy." She said curtly, before turning on her heel. "And I don't even know you."

"Jungkook. Jeon Jungkook. I live on the floor above you," He called after her retreating figure.

"That didn't mean I wanted to get to know you," She rolled her eyes, and Jungkook pretended that didn't sting a little.

She looked back over her shoulder one last time, raising an eyebrow at him.
"But nice slippers," She smirked, before she disappeared up the staircase.

Jungkook stood still for a few moments, unsure of what to make of their exchange. He didn't know the reason as to why she was, quite frankly, rude - but he was a tiny bit curious. Just a tiny bit.

Before a little idea came to his head.

"What are you doing here again?"

Seulbi's face was expressionless as she stood at her door, looking up at the man who was smiling innocently at her.

"Here you go. I accidentally took your mail, so here," He held out a couple of letters, and Seulbi raised her eyebrows because how could he have accidentally taken them?

"Okay, thanks," She nodded before proceeding to close the door.

"Wait!"
Jungkook quickly stuck his foot in the door before it closed, causing the girl to glare at him.
"I really need to use the toilet. May I?"

"You live one floor up from here." She dead panned, and Jungkook nodded.
"I know, but I will literally wee here. I'm desperate."

Seulbi sighed. This boy wasn't going to leave anytime soon.

"Fine," She muttered, opening the door wider and pretending not to see the victorious grin that spread itself on his lips.

"Thank you," He smiled, as Seulbi pointed out the bathroom. He reappeared within moments, and Seulbi didn't say anything to him, hoping he'd show himself out.

She wasn't so lucky.

"So, Seulbi-ssi," He sat down on her sofa, smiling up at her and she fought on an expressionless face.

"Yes, Jungkook-ssi," She replied, crossing her arms.

"What do you do for a living?"

Seulbi refrained from rolling her eyes.

"I work from home. I co-manage a business," She replied in as bored a tone as she could muster. "I'm guessing from your uniform that you're a police officer?"

(Throwback to Dope era because DAMN)

Jungkook grinned. "That's right. How old are you?"

"21. Yourself?"

Jungkook nodded. "I'm 22."

There was a pause in the 'conversation' and both of them sat awkwardly.

"Well Jungkook-ssi," Seulbi stood up, adjusting her dress. "I have somewhere to be, so if you'd please see yourself out."

Jungkook felt disappointment but he didn't show it. Instead he smiled brightly and nodded, as Seulbi walked away into her bedroom, shutting the door.

The boy sat in silence for a while, not actually getting up like he was supposed to. He was thinking for so long that he did not hear the sound of the bedroom opening.

"You're still here?"

Seulbi stood staring at him, and he couldn't help but ogle at her.

She donned a slim fitting deep maroon coloured dress which reached mid-thigh, plus small black heels. Her dark brown hair was completely straight, framing her face.

"You look amazing," Jungkook whispered, and he could have sworn Seulbi's face softened.

"Thank you Jungkook." She smiled properly for the first time at him, and as cliché as it sounds, he was mesmerised.

The only thing that was slightly out of place was the little black cardigan.

"Hey," He stood up, walking out to her slowly. "Do you need this with it? I think your outfit would look better without-"
He made the motion forward to remove her cardigan but she yelped, pushing away his hands and jumping back.

"No!" She mumbled, glaring at him and clutching tightly to the cardigan.

Jungkook was confused. "Why not?"

"I-I just need it," She hurried, scrambling for her phone and purse.

"..okay. So where are you going?" Jungkook's eyes followed her as she walked around the apartment sorting out things.

Seulbi hesitated, before muttering a word that made Jungkook freeze.

"A date."

"A date?" He questioned, his voice more accusing than he meant it to sound.

"Yes. Problem?" She halted, making eye contact with him with an unreadable expression.

Yes. "No," He shrugged, and she turned away, grabbing her jacket.

"Good. Now I'm leaving so please step outside so I can lock the door." She stated, and Jungkook had no choice but to comply.

"Bye, Seulbi-ssi, have fun on your date," He tried to say it with enthusiasm but it came out too happy and he cringed internally.

"Thank you Jungkook-ssi," She bowed to him before walking away.

Once he was sure she had descended the first set of stairs, he legged it up the stairs to his own flat - two at a time - before changing his uniform shirt into a normal one and grabbing his keys, running all the way down again. He just caught Seulbi pulling out of her parking space and he ran to his own car, making sure he wasn't spotted by the girl, settling into the seat and bringing the engine to life.

As soon as she'd drove out of the apartment complex, he followed in pursuit.

He couldn't help but think he'd lost it; he was currently following a girl who for some reason he was attached to, who also happened to be going on a date of all things with, potentially, her boyfriend.

But it was too late to back out now.
