Aria's POV
"I don't want you to think I left you because I didn't love you" I say and he nods.
"I know. It was for the kids" He reassured me
But I had this queazy feelings inside me, like I had done something wrong. I had admitted what had happened and he understood but for some reason I just feel ashamed. I felt bad about how I had ruined his life before and left him to fill in the blanks.
"I should have just told you. I should have told you that I was threatened. You would have protected me. You would have protected us" I snuggled into his chest. "I don't think I can live with knowing I'd caused you so much pain again"
"Although I'd love to stay and chat, I need to get to work" He unwraps my arms from his body and gets off the couch.
"Don't leave" I called and he smirked.
"I'll be back sooner than you think" He says, grabbing his keys off the table.
He gives me a small wave before exiting out the door.
