Chapter 2: Preparations

I woke up by the sound of my alarm. It's 10:00, so early...

I absolutely love Shawn Medes! Let's just say he's my favorite singer.

I put on ripped jeans and a pink tank top. In the bathroom I comb my hair and put on some makeup.
When I'm back in my room I take my phone and reread the conversation with Oliver from yesterday. Wait a minute. How did he even get my number. I got his number thanks to Charlie, because he's kind of a stalker. But I don't remember giving him my number. And inviting him to the party? Did we invite him I don't think so. MOON! I called her to see what she was up to. She answered.

"Heyyy girl!", she said over the phone.
"Hey! What do you think of getting our nails and hair done for the party?"
"Great! I'll be there in five."
"Okayy! And Moon, it was you wasn't it?"
"Uummm... What do you mean me? There's a bad connection! Crrchhh..." I know she's making them with her mouth but I'll confront her later. "See you soon!", she finally said.

She lives a few streets further so when she said she was going to be here in five she meant it. I hear the doorbell take my purse and run from the stairs almost falling.
"Mom, dad!?", I shouted. No response. I'll leave a note then I run to the kitchen avoiding all the mess on our floor my little brother left there. I take a pen and write: 'I'm in town with Moon. See you later! Tessa xxx'
I run to the door and open it. "Heeyy babe! Ready?", she asks.
"Yupp, let's go." I close and lock the door and walk to the passenger side of the car. Oh did I forget to mention, Moon got a car for her birthday. It's not really that spectacular because it only drives 70km/h but she's so lucky to have one.

After about 10 minutes of driving we reached town. Moon put her car in a parking spot and we walked to the coffee shop first. I ordered a cappuccino and a muffin.
Later on we walk to nail salon. I made an appointment yesterday already knowing Moon would come to. We chose the color we wanted and the ladies started. We decided to have a pedicure too.

Almost an hour later we paid and left to go to get our hair done.
"We're not going to a hairdresser but to my aunt.", I said. She's really good at making different hairstyles.
I knocked on the door and a minute later aunt Elisabeth opened the door. She's a very beautiful woman. She has got blonde hair with a few gray locks in it and green eyes. She has a few wrinkles on her forehead but she's still a very pretty woman.
"Hi, girls! How wonderful to see you both."
"Hi aunt Elisabeth. We're here to get our hair done remember."
"Ohh yes, I didn't forget Tessa.", she winked at me with a smile. We're entered the hall and took off our shoes.
"Ow I almost forgot to mention, Jake is home."
My mouth dropped open. "Who is... who is home?" I asked.
"You've heard me silly.", She laughed. "Jake is home."
"Who's Jake?", Moon asked softly.
"Mhmm... my aunts stepson.", I said.
"JAKE!", aunt Elisabeth shouted. "Tessa is here with a friend, Moon.", she still shouted.
I hear Jake come down the stairs while taking two steps a time.
He is tall has got beautiful blue eyes. His brown hair is put up with wax. He's wearing ripped jeans and a white shirt. You can see his abs through his shirt and he's so hot. I can tell you that. He turns eighteen at the end of the year.
"Oh shit!", I hear beside me. I look at Moon and her mouth is wide open.
"I'm Moon.", she said. She takes a lock of hair and curls it around her finger.
"Jake.", he said annoyed. He looks at me and smirks. "Hi beautiful!"
"Jake, where's your girlfriend?", I ask.
"Amy? We broke up a long time ago."
"So you're single?", Moon asked.
"Yupp." With out giving Moon another look he turns to me picking me off the floor into a tight hug.
"I look forward to tonight. We're gonna have a lot of fun.", he whispers in my ear. He gives me a kiss on the cheek puts me down and goes back upstairs.

"Okay girls, I'm gonna get some drinks and a snack. You can go to the back where my studio is and make yourself comfortable.", aunt Elisabeth said.
Moon and I walk to the back and we go sit in the chair where our hair is going to be done.
"He's so hot!", Moon says and she giggles.
"Pfff, please he's such a jerk."
"He's into you, you know."
"He's not!"
"I saw the way he was looking at you!"
"Oww please, he's my cousin and besides he's just out of a relationship."
"Tessa, I'm your best friend! I can see that you like him too."
"Not true! I like..., Oliver!"
"You can like two boys at the same time."
Luckily aunt Elisabeth entered the room with orange juice and cake.
"So, what are you thinking of doing?", she said.
"We would like to have our hair up.", Moon said.
"Something with braids too maybe?", I said.
"Owww and I would like to get ombré hair.", Moon said.
"Okayy I'll start with you then.", and she points at Moon. "Do you want the same style or?"
"Something different.", I said quickly before Moon could say anything else.
I take a piece of cake and a glass of orange juice.
I finish my glass and I had to use the toilet.
"I have to use the bathroom.", I said.

I go to hall and go up the stairs. When I'm on the first floor I take the second door on the left and enter. I go to toilet and then wash my hands. I have a weird habit of talking to myself in the mirror and making 'funny' faces. I unlock the door and when I open it I see Jake standing there. I wanted to walk past him and ignore him but he grabbed my arm and pulled me in front of him.
"It's cute when you talk to yourself, you know that?", he said. I can feel that my face is turning red. I clear my throat and say:"I have to go."
"Oh come on! You can stay away a little longer." I look up at him to meet his beautiful blue eyes and frown.
"What do you want?", I ask. Just to be clear we had an relationship two years ago and he left me for that bitch Amy. But it was for the best, his dad married my aunt a few months later so that makes us family. It doesn't mean I don't like him anymore, I do but I don't like to admit it and especially not to him.
"You don't have a boyfriend, do you?"
"Ummm..."
"I take that as a no." I blush when he says that and look down. He gently grabs my chin to face him.
"I've waited a long time for this." I don't know what he means until I feel his soft lips on mine. It feels so good having his lips on mine but it's wrong since he's my cousin. As I said it feels so good so instead of backing off I kiss him back. One of my hands holds his neck and the other one holds his cheek. His hands are both around my waist.
I pull back and look into his eyes that are full of desire. I'm wondering if my eyes say the same.
"I really have to go now.", I said. I let go and go downstairs.

"Wright on time!", aunt said. "Go sit down and I'll do your hair. I just finished up coloring Moon's hair but now it has to set." I sit beside Moon. Aunt Elisabeth starts with two braids on the top of my hair and then makes a bow-bun. There are a few loose locks of hair in the front and aunt Elisabeth curls them.
By the time I'm done Moon's hair is dyed. She decided to curl her hair instead of putting it up.

We left around 15:00 o'clock. We walk to the car and drive home.
After about 10 minutes Moon stops in front of my house.
"So I'll see you at the party!", she says and then drives away.

I walk to the door and when I want to open it, it's locked. I want to take my keys but I don't find them. I put them in my purse, I know for sure. I search and search but I don't find them. Shit! Aren't mom and dad supposed to be home? I take my phone and dial mom.

"Hello?" I hear through the speakers of my phone.
"Where are you?"
"We're on our way home now. Why?"
"Ow okayy. I forgot my keys. How much longer?"
"About five more minutes."
"Okay bye. Love you."
"Bye, love you too darling."

Luckily it's a sunny day, so I sit on the porch and wait. I take my phone again and ask if Iris wants to come over to do my makeup and maybe sleepover. Not a minute later she answers: Is fine I'll be there in like an hour or so. Yeah great I'll bring my bags too.
