"I just don't get it" Daisy says holding Daniel as I sob into my pillow

"I can't believe you and Nick are getting divorced" she says shocked

"I love him" I sob harder

She sighs and sits down next to me

"Then don't sign the papers" she says

I wipe my tears forcefully "easy for you to say"

She rolls her eyes "your seventeen. You should've saw this coming"

I look at her angrily "I love Nick"

"Then why are you getting a divorce?" She asks me

I stay silent

"Exactly" she rolls her eyes again

*last day of court"

"Just sign here and you both will be divorced" Nick's lawyer says passing Nick and I the contract

I bite my lip and quickly sign my name

I drop the pen and cover my face

Nick shakily picks up the pen and reads my signature on the paper

He looks up at me and our eyes meet

They're filled with so much hurt

"I'm sorry" he whispers and signs his name

I let out a sob

What the hell? Since when have I been crying?

"There you go Ms Cortes, you are now free to go home" my lawyer grins at me

I cringe and I notice Nick does too

We're both so used to me being a Carter that I forgot my last name was Cortes

"Thank you Mandy, for everything" I give her a sad smile

She holds my shoulders "you'll make it through this"

Nick and his lawyer walk up towards Mandy and I

Nick's lawyer adjusts his tie and speaks "Ms.Cortes, Mr.Carter is allowed to see his son on the Saturday and Tuesday"

I roll my eyes knowing that tomorrow is Saturday

"Yeah sure, what time will you be picking up Daniel?" I ask Nick trying not to make eye contact

"Uh. Around 12? If that's okay with you" he tells me shyly

"Then there we go. I'll see you tomorrow at 12" I say quickly and walk out of the court room

Once I reach outside I let out a sob and I run to my car
