Chapter 51

I walk around the backyard greeting some of the guests that I haven't said hello to

A tap on my shoulder gets my attention

"Hey, Elsa" he smiles

I grin back and hug him "Hi, Nick"

I notice the gift in his hands "You can go put it over there" I say pointing to a table that's filled with gifts

He nods "Gotcha"

I follow him towards the table and he turns around

"So where is the big fella?"

"He's on the bounce house with Daisy" I giggle

"Want me to go get him for you?" I ask

"If you don't mind" he says shyly

I smile and begin my way to the bounce house

"Daniel, your dad is here" I say through the net

"Nick is here already?" Daisy asks out of breath

I try not to laugh at her

"Uh yeah" I say with a small smile

"C'mon buddy let's go see your dad" daisy says quickly leaving the bounce house

She hands him over to me

"Thanks"

She nods while putting back on her flats

I carry Daniel over to Nick who is having a conversation with my dad

Nick meets my eyes and he smiles

His smile is so beautiful

"Hey bubba" Nick says opening his arms for the little boy in my arms to take

Daniel opens his arms and is now in Nick's arms

"I'll leave you three alone" My dad excuses himself

I nod at him

3 hours later
"And he literally threw his milk at me because he didn't want to eat" I tell Nick a story about Daniel a few days ago

Nick laughs and shakes his head "Daniel be nice to your mommy"

"Aww look at you three, you guys actually look like a family again" My Cousin Maddie says

My heart warms a bit but I know Nick doesn't want to be my husband again

"Oh, I've been meaning to ask you something" He clears his throat

I nod telling him to continue

"You know that song that you just let out a few days ago?" He asks

"Better in time?" I ask

He nods "Yeah that's the one"

I look at him confused "what about it?"

He bites his lip "is it about me?"

I look at him like he's stupid "Are you serious?"

He looks down "I just wanna know"

"If you actually listen to the lyrics you can obviously tell it's about you" I say

"I just wanted to make sure" he finally looks up

"Well yes, yes Nick it is about you" I say getting up and beginning to walk away

"Your acting childish" he calls after me

"And your being an idiot" I shot back
