COMATOSE DREAMS BY LEE GILMOUR
He stood unseen like the doubts in his mind
Reaching out with hopeful fingers to the things he left behind
Worry's stab like knife wounds into his tender heart
His prayers they raise above the roof begging to restart
His smile in place, the mask in check, he hid in daily disguise
if only they could see the truth behind his blackened eyes
In this palace where nothing really was ever as it seems
He lived in ruins in the confines of everyone else's broken dreams
She like him woke each day and felt the need to hide
A smile in place, and eyes like gems for the nothing growing inside
And days would pass and lies would fall like salted tears upon her cushion
And all those who tried to break her walls she held back with constant pushing
She dreamed to dance and spin and twirl and take flight like a white dove
She dreamed of those who had past on now and had been taken from the man above
She would relive each moment, like an inferno in her mind
The mistakes she made, the things she said, the worries never left her side
But even the comatose
Never dance alone.
and everyone deserves someone take them home
a shattered mirror still holds glimmer of a reflection
look behind the glass and seek beauty's true protection.
