"Chris! Sweetie are you home?" He heard a familiar voice echo through his house.

"Up here Ma!" Chris called back from his room.

He was currently folding some of his clean laundry on his bed but stopped to give his mother a big hug when she walked into his room. Dodger was busy playing with his singing lion stuffed animal on the floor but did come over to get some scratches from Lisa before going back to his toy.

"I was going to go grocery shopping and wanted to stop by and see if you wanted to go with me?" She asked her eldest son.

"Yeah I'd love to," He told her. "I need a bunch of groceries anyway. Just let me go get my shoes."

While Chris walked over to grab some tennis shoes out of his closet, Lisa heard a faint noise coming from the window that was cracked open. She walked over to look outside and was surprised when she saw a woman outside in the backyard of the house next door.

She remembered that Chris had said someone bought the house next to him but she hadn't talked to him since this past weekend when he had met her. Lisa saw the woman playing with a beautiful golden retriever and she turned her head to look at Chris who was busy tying his shoes, "Is that the new neighbor?"

"Yeah her name is Erica and her dog Jacky," Chris informed, tying his shoelaces and then standing his tall frame up. "I've been wanting to tell you about her. I met her this weekend when Dodger wandered over to her yard. She had me over for dinner. Erica is really sweet and she's super fun and just all around charming."

Lisa couldn't help but be skeptical. She always wondered what girls motives with Chris were because not only was her son incredibly handsome and famous, but had a lot of money and those things were enough to earn him most girls. She wanted someone for her son that loved his heart and who he was at a person so it made her happy when Chris told her, "Yeah when I met her, she was trying to figure out where she had seen me before and when I told her I was Cap, she didn't believe me."

"Really?" Lisa couldn't help but laugh.

He nodded with a snicker, "When she finally did believe me, she didn't seem to really care and then basically told me she was most excited to live next to me because then she gets to hang out with Dodger."

The knowledge made Lisa relax, knowing Chris was a good judge of character and Erica sounded like someone completely unfazed by who Chris was. The pair watched out the window and they both cracked up while watching her playing with Jacky while she played some of her favorite music.

She danced around like crazy while singing terribly at the top of her lungs. At one point, Jacky came over to her and she took his front paws, having him stand on his back paws while dancing with him. Lisa cracked up and Chris smiled before opening his widow wide, hearing her off key voice singing, "Yo I'll tell you what I want what I really really want. So tell me what you want what you really really want!"

He put his big hands on the windowsill and poked his head and broad shoulders out the window before calling out, "HEY SPORTY SPICE! NICE DANCE MOVES!"

Without missing a beat, Erica spun around in the grass and kept up her singing along with her ridiculous dance moves which eventually resulted in her tripping and falling in the grass. She laughed hysterically at her fall while Jacky came over to lick her and Chris laughed just as hard.

"Okay so she's completely adorable," Lisa said while watching the scene.

Chris smiled before shouting back out the window, "HEY ERICA! COME OVER AND MEET MY MA!"

"WHAT? YOUR MOM IS THERE? DID SHE SEE ME FALL?" She yelled back while Chris just cracked up, giving her the answer. "WARN ME NEXT TIME BEFORE I MAKE AN IDIOT OF MYSELF!"

Chris just cackled hysterically before closing the window and then trotting down the stairs with Lisa behind him. They walked out in his backyard right as Erica was coming through the gate and Jacky let out a few happy barks while he ran to the hunky man who knelt down to scratch him and let the dog lick at his bearded chin.

Erica couldn't help but notice how handsome Chris looked. Now that she had googled Chris, she had seen some of his photoshoots and interviews but she felt like those couldn't do him justice. This is when she thought he looked the best, his eyes squinted up while he let out his joyful laughter. He was painfully attractive, that was obvious but there were a lot of handsome people in the world, what made Chris so wonderful to Erica was his lighthearted spirit full of joy and sillyness.

"Erica, this is my mother Lisa, and Ma, this is my new neighbor Erica and her dog Jacky," He introduced the two.

Erica's warm brown eyes looked to Lisa and instantly smiled. She knew that Lisa was a loving mother and genuine woman just from one look and because of Erica's personality, she couldn't help but just hug her right on the spot.

"It's so nice to meet you!" Erica cheerfully greeted the woman.

"It's great to meet you too sweetie," Lisa hugged her right back. "By the way, I thought your dancing was adorable."

"Oh was that dancing? Was that what that was supposed to be?" Chris teased her, genuinely pretending to be shocked which earned him a slap to his toned chest from Erica causing him to only laugh harder.

"You're such a brat, did you know that?" Erica retorted through her snickering.

"Whatever you say Sporty Spice," He smirked down at her.

She playfully glared at him with her warm brown eyes while Lisa reached over and rested her hand on Erica's arm and told her, "Honey, I'd love to tell you he's not like this all the time.... But he is."

"I think I'm beginning to figure that out," Erica's melodic laughter followed her words while tucking her curly waves behind her ear.

Chris held his big hands up in defense and said, "Hey, this is coming from the girl who reenacts the town song from Beauty and the Beast in the mornings by opening her windows and calling out 'Bonjour!' I don't know if you should be the one criticizing being ridiculous."

"Excuse me, you were the one who whipped your window open yesterday and started singing along with me," She put her hands on the curve of her hips that Chris admired.

The pair kept bantering for a while longer before Erica fell into easy conversation with Lisa. After a while, Erica realized the time and told them she had to get going to deliver a piece of furniture she had made for someone. She gave each of the Evans a hug before hurrying off with Jacky behind her.

Lisa and Chris then got into his car and headed toward the grocery store but Lisa finally broke the silence between the two and told her son, "Alright, I officially love Erica."
