Ch 6

Gracie pov

darkness thats all that i see when my narcolepsy kicks in now they know something is up since i collapsed

my eyes slowly flutter open I'm laying on a couch in some kind of office i sit up put one hand to my forehead i need a drink the adult kind i thought i stand up then someone comes in

"Hey Gracie" I see JJ walked in

"Hey" i said

"Why didn't you say anything about your condition" JJ asked as she handed me some water

"Law of the street don't show them or tell them your weakness" I said as i drank some water

"Does it happen a lot" She asked

"Only when I'm stressed out" I said

She nodded "you know were right about your father" JJ asked

"I guess deep down i knew he didn't die i was young when my mother died i don't really remember much" I said

she nodded then the rest of them walked in

"But that doesn't explain why he's looking for me" I said glaring at them taking a deep breath so i don't collapse again

"were not sure yet" Hotch said

"well when you do then come find me" I said walking out

"Grace i don't think it's a good idea for you to be by yourself" Rossi said

"I've been on my own for five years I'm sure i can manage" I said leaving

Third person pov

"Kid is stubborn" Derek said

"Morgan i want you to follow her keep an eye on her" Hotch said

Derek nodded

"the rest of you i want you to dig up everything you can on Scott Grey" Hotch said

everyone nodded

Derek pov

I leave following Gracie far enough back she doesn't suspect me following her after a few hours of walking we come to a private Beach she looks around making sure no one is following her i hid behind a tree then she entered a shack that was hidden by trees and brush

"Smart kid" I whispered

Gracie pov

i get back to the shack to find no one here good the place is all to myself today i thought as i laid on one of the beds my good arm behind my head if this Scott Grey is my dad then what the hell does he want with me just stay calm Gracie i know what will get my mind off of this surfing who cares about a fractured arm i take the sling off exit the shack grab my board and make my way to the water

i take my zip hoodie off and my tee shirt and my shorts my bikini was underneath my clothes

i leave a towel near my clothes and run into the water and start to paddle out

Derek pov

i watch Gracie leave the Shack and make her way to the water taking her clothes off she had a swimming suit underneath her clothes the whole time she paddles out to water on a surf board

i watch as she surfs she's good really good i think this is how she stays calm the water the waves then she just sits on her board and watches as the sun starts to go down

we need to get this guy and find her a good foster family i thought

Gracie pov

the next day i came out of the shack and seen Derek i knew he's been following me i walk up to him "you know you could do a better job hiding if your gonna follow me" I said

"we just want to make sure you're safe Gracie" he said

"i get it your just doing your job but don't waste your time running after me I've been taking care of my self for five years" I said

"I get it kid pretending not to care and keeping away from people makes everything a whole lot easier but believe it or not we do care about you Gracie" Derek said

I looked away

"Believe it or not kid i used to be you" Derek said

"Mad at everything and everyone not trusting adults because the people you thought you could trust hurt you and broke that trust i get it but Gracie not everyone is like that I'm not like that neither is my team let us help you" Derek said

"you promise" I asked hesitantly looking up at him

"I promise now come on kid let's get back to the police station" Derek said

i nodded
