Merlin quickly turned on his heel and sent his attacker flying back, slamming him against the wall. He looked up and saw that he had just killed Mordred. He had done it! He had destroyed the prophecy and saved Arthur.
He rushed back to the camp where Gaius was treating the wounded and helped him bandage up a severely injured Gwaine.
An hour later it finally dawned on Merlin what he had done. He had saved Arthur yes, but the balance to life must be restored. Someone else must have died.
No one had died in the camp, so someone must have died on the battle field. He knew that many had died that day but he still rushed out to find Arthur.
He soon found Arthur kneeling over two bodies. He got closer and saw the bodies of Gwen and Morgana laying next to each other, a sword in each other's hearts.
Both were dead.
