I hurried to take it all and ran back to the car, I placed bel on the front seat and took her seatbelt on I placed her baby bag in the back of the car" wouldn't want mommy to kill me," I mumble and closed the door
I went to the drivers side and jumped in, and drove back to the diner
I looked outside the window and saw Brandon with Isobel and the baby bag" thank god," I mumbled and walked over to him" you got her alright?" I asked" yeah, sorry for forgetting her," he said and looked at the baby
" it's alright, just NEVER do it again, it's a major part of our grade. Now go feed her or something," I said and walked into the kitchen
" that's the boy?" Jimmy asked" yeah, he's a pain in the ass," I said folded my arms" should I straighten him up?" He asked and looked at Brandon," nah it's fine," said and patted his shoulder
I worked my shift for three more hours, and of course Brandon and his squad didn't leave
I cleaned the tables and threw the trash out, when I got back everyone was gone only Brandon and bel was there" what are you waiting for?" I asked" I'm sorry for forgetting bel," he said and looked at the doll in the both" it's fine, you got her back," I said tiredly
He nodded and took the baby bag and took bel," bye," I said and smiled" yeah, bye," he said and went out of the diner doors, I quickly finished up and then closed the diner, I walked to my car and opened it
When I was about to close it a hand stopped it," Jesus Christ!! Brandon!" I said and looked at him" can I catch a ride?" He asked and smiled " sure," I said
He placed bel in the backseat and took her seatbelt on, he walked up to the passenger seat and sat down" so where do ya live?" I asked and started the car" uhm just Broderick street," he said and placed his head on the window
I drove and there was this awkward silence between us," so uhm how's football going?" I asked damn I'm so dumb, why couldn't I just have shut up" uh good?.....Za'Niyah im sorry," he said i looked over at him for a second " about what?" I asked and bit the inside of my cheek "the kiss? It's jus-" " no no its fine! It's all good," I said and shook my head" it's alright, it is," I said and stopped at the red light
" it's not like that, I like you," he said and smiled" I like you to! Your a good friend," I said and tried to shoot him down, I do like him but I can't with all the drama that comes with him
He's smiled faded and I felt a pang in my chest," Brandon I'm sorry, it's just that-drama I can't," I said and looked at him quickly and started to drive again
" it's fine you've only known me for a week or so, I'll prove you wrong ," he said and smiled" and what's that?" I asked" that you like me, and that your not that tough,"
It's been a while since I dropped Brandon off I'm in the living room with Zahra watching TV" you're you dating that white boy?" Zahra asked suddenly" what?! Why would you ask that?" I said and looked at her" just wondering," she said still with her eyes planted on the screen
