CHAPTER 4

WAKING up in the morning is truly delightful when you know it's already Friday—the last day of enduring through school. I feel a bit lazy to get out of bed and head to the bathroom for a quick wash.

I have a bit of a headache because I slept late last night, reviewing for our quiz today with Mrs. Cruzana.

I headed to the kitchen upon catching a whiff of the delicious aroma emanating from Grandma's cooking. Grandma and Grandpa paid us a visit yesterday, expressing that they missed my sibling and me, hence opting to stay with us for a while.

“Gising ka na pala, anak,” ani Lola habang maingat na hinahalo ang niluluto.

Ngumiti naman ako, “Good morning po, mama La.”

I assisted Grandma in preparing the main dish because I preferred not to treat her as a nanny, especially considering her advanced age, it should be me taking care of the tasks.

Lumabas na rin sa kwarto ang pumupungay na si Eros. Ang laki ng eyebag ng bata, halatang puyat na naman 'to. Ano naman kayang pinagpuyatan ng Eros na ito.

Balita ko kasi may nililigawan daw 'to. Kaya pala madalas itong umalis ng bahay. Sana lang talaga hindi niya pabayaan ang pag-aaral niya. Tumulong na rin si Eros sa paghugas ng pinggan.

“Asan po pala si papa Lo, mama La?” tanong ni Eros na ngayon ay busy na sa kanyang phone.

“Hep hep, tama na muna yang cellphone at tayo'y kakain na, lumabas lang ang Lolo niyo para mag jogging.”

I finished eating quickly because I was afraid I might be late. On the other hand, Eros decided not to go to school for the moment due to a headache. Binilihan ko siya ng gamot bago umalis ng bahay.

“Ingat ka, anak,” si Lolo na kararating lang at pawis na pawis.

“Sige po, alis na po ako.”

As soon as I stepped out of the house, a bus conveniently arrived, thankfully sparing me from any waiting. Upon boarding the bus, all the seats were occupied, leaving me with no choice but to stand.

Maaga pa nang makarating akong school, fortunate that the guard had already left because I had forgotten my ID. I hurriedly entered and headed straight to the library.

While walking, I took out my phone to check our section's group chat. Since there were no significant announcements, I pocketed my phone again and proceeded to enter the library.

Pagkapasok ko sa loob ay akala ko ako lang ang tao, may mga mas maaga pa pala sa'kin na pumunta rito. Nakita ko rin sa may bandang gilid ang isa sa miyembro ng vboyz na si Mark Kyler. He is currently asleep, and then he used two books as his pillows. Lol.

Naghanap na lang ako ng librong p'wedeng basahin at umupo sa may gilid malapit sa bintana para kita ko ang ganda ng field ng university.

I thoroughly enjoy reading because it provides a reprieve from fatigue and stress associated with academics. That's why I find myself in the library almost every day. Additionally, I dislike noisy environments for various reasons.

From this window, one can behold the vastness and beauty of the entire field—a sprawling expanse that truly captivates. It's no surprise that our school is considered one of the top universities. However, beneath this prestigious facade, the institution harbors numerous secrets, leading to the sudden disappearance of its former president.

Nakaramdam ako ng antok kaya nagdesisyon akong lumabas na sa library. Malapit na rin naman mag alas siete kaya naglakad na ako patungo sa room namin.
