"hey haeun, did you miss me?" asked jisoo, a female trainee who was probably three years older then haeun.

her hair was in a high ponytail and her clothes were mildly drenched with sweat.

"you know where i just came from? the gym." she stated and her smile turned into a hard glare.

she was always jealous that haeun didn't need to be told to fix anything by staff or their boss.

"while me and other trainees were working out, you were allowed to stay here. how does that seem fair haeun?"

"i-i.. i'm n-not s-sure-" the younger tried to answer but her stutter was holding her back.

times like these made haeun hate herself even more then these girls did.

why couldn't she just say what she wanted to without embarrassing herself?

jisoo smirked knowing haeun was most likely overwhelmed with fear.

she signaled to one of the other girls and soon a coke can was in her hand before she spoke again.

"i don't understand what JYP or anyone else sees in you, it's starting to get annoying."

"all the trainees talk about how you'll be the first one to debut over and over again. when deep down, you're just here out of pity." she finished while opening the seal of the can.

she spit in it before handing it to the rest of the girls.

"i suppose this should count as an early debut gift." her fake smile taking form as haeun watched the rest of the girls spit in the can.

as the last girl finished jisoo grabbed the soda and with one finger she covered the open seal to shake it.

"make it big for me, okay haeun?" sarcasm dripping in her tone.

slowly and painfully jisoo poured the drink over her and haeun could feel the humiliation burn in her clothing.

she whimpered as tears began to build up and discomfort filled her body.

it felt like the soda seemed to never end as haeun let a few tears fall.

laughter erupted and the can was thrown on the ground.

everything seemed like such a blur and haeun doubted whether or not she liked being in the company anymore.

maybe jisoo was right, she didn't deserve to be in the company, especially if no one truly believed in her.

she didn't have anyone.

"i wonder what JYP would say to this." a voice spoke.

all the females turned to see bang chan..

he was a very popular trainee and everyone longed for his attention.

haeun was embarrassed to see such a high spoken trainee look at her like this, especially one who ended up catching her heart as well.

"oppa! well- you see we were just joking. isn't that right haeun?" jisoo said and grabbed her forcefully.

her sharp nails dug into her skin and haeun was close to shamelessly agreeing when chan spoke up.

"acting like that won't get you anywhere and i can't remember pouring soda on any of my friends."

his patience was running very, very thin and the fact that they had the audacity to try to lie to him when he saw everything irritated him more.

his eyes met haeun's and his demeanor changed to a soft one.

"you don't have to stick up for them. its okay to stand up for yourself."

"w-we.." she started.

her face felt hot but hope stirred in her.

the grip around her got tighter and haeun assumed jisoo reached blood but she didn't care.

"we aren't friends.." she finally muttered out.

chan had small smile as he stepped forward towards them.

"let her go. you're wasting your own time trying to lie to me especially when haeun told me all i needed to know."

jisoo looked furious but obliged nonetheless, aggressively shoving haeun to the side.

soon the rest of the trainees followed her, leaving the two together.

she internally winced and caught herself before she could fall with the help of chan as he rushed to her and helped her while holding her forearms.

"you okay?"

haeun's eyes met his and she saw concern which was something she wasn't familiar with recently.

the eye contact made her flustered as he was pretty close to her trying to inspect her for any other wounds.

"y-yeah i'm good." she mumbled and quickly took back her arms from his hold.

she bowed fully and thanked him trying her best to avoid confrontation.

she wished she could hide so he never had to see her like that again but was stopped gathering her things when he called for her.

"your arms bleeding a bit, would you mind if i helped you clean it?"

his genuine voice made her heart flutter as her head nodded to which he grabbed her wrist leading them both out the practice room and into a clinic built in JYP.

when he finally put a bandaid on the area his eyes landed on her.

the drink on her skin and clothing dried while chan chuckled thinking that he should've let her shower and change before helping her.

he recalled the times when haeun would bump into him then instantly apologize and scurry away.

she was only a child whom didn't have any friends, and chan knew that because he would watch as she would sit alone all the time or never leave the same practice room.

her determination sparked something in him..

and something inside his brain told him to never let someone like her go.
