I'm not physically fit! Shīxiōng, save me...!

Fu Changling listened to Qin Yan's words in a daze, unable to react to anything for a while.

He felt a sudden desire to know if this was what Qin Yan had wanted to say to him when he placed this piece of jade in his palm back then.

While he was in a stupor, the disciple next to him reminded him, "Shen Shīdì, you can get up now."

When Fu Changling came to his senses, he hastily thanked Qin Yan, then stood up and stepped aside.

There wasn't much else for him to do next. He simply retreated behind Jiang Yebai and watched as the rest entered one by one. Having paid his respects to his master and received a gift from him and his direct disciple, he was counted as having been initiated.

It took only two hours for the discipleship ceremony to conclude. Once everything was over, Jiang Yebai instructed Qin Yan to take care of Fu Changling and then left straight away.

After spending some time in the square with their escorting family members, all of the freshly initiated disciples were then led back to their respective peaks by the direct disciples of each peak.

Except for Chen Zhu, who had escorted him here, Fu Changling had no family members to bid farewell to. After casually chatting with him, Fu Changling whispered, "Go back and tell my father that everything went well, so that he can put his mind at ease."

Chen Zhu smiled and said respectfully, "I will relay this to him for Dà Gōngzi."

Fu Changling then bid Chen Zhu farewell. Chen Zhu saluted and was led by the other disciples down the mountain.

Then, the only ones left in the square were Qin Yan and Fu Changling at that point.

Qin Yan cast a fleeting glance at Fu Changling, and without saying anything, he turned around and rode off on his sword. Fu Changling hastened to follow Qin Yan's sword to Changyue Peak.

Qin Yan rode his sword without any care, not even taking into account the fact that Fu Changling was merely a "Zhùjī" novice, and never once looked back along the way. Fu Changling struggled with great difficulty to keep up with him to Changyue Peak, and once there, Qin Yan retracted his sword and landed. Fu Changling was hurrying after him, not even half a zhàng away, when Qin Yan abruptly turned around and waved. A fierce gust of wind then threw Fu Changling off his sword, and he rolled to the ground.

"Sword-riding isn't allowed on Changyue Peak," Qin Yan said indifferently, and then turned around and continued on his way.

Fu Changling propped himself up, spat the grass out of his mouth, and ran after Qin Yan, grumbling in a hushed tone, "Shīxiōng, just tell me what the rules are. You don't need to take any immediate action. What's the point?"

"Every day at the crack of dawn, all disciples are required to be at the main palace at Luojian Cliff for their morning training."

"Morning training at the crack of dawn?" Fu Changling was stunned, then he immediately responded. "Wait, Shīxiōng. If I stay at the Lanyue Palace and can't ride my sword at Changyue Peak, how will I get to the main palace every day for morning training at the crack of dawn?"

Thinking about it, Fu Changling tentatively said, "I'll fly directly from the Lanyue Palace, bypassing the Changyue Peak..."

"Sword-riding is only allowed from Xiaoyun Ridge after leaving Changyue Peak." Saying so, Qin Yan seemed to suddenly recall what Fu Changling meant by his words, and he frowned. "Who gave you permission to stay at the Lanyue Palace?"
