"An alliance?"
"Yes. Like I said when we first met, I always find your race interesting and knowledgeable," Mayor Laurel commented. "A partnership would benefit both of us, I believe."
"Something you are going to try to take advantage of." Victoria commented, annoyed with the idea of this woman even having a hint of what is going on. Her nails began to sharpen a little as the urge to kill her. 'How much does she know? Who was the one who told her?'
"Maybe," Mayor Laurel hummed, keeping a professional facade on. "But the only way to find out is to come with me somewhere that is much more secluded for privacy."
"What great timing she has. Right when we were heading out, she wanted to pull this," Victoria muttered; she looked over towards the girls. Jade was whispering into Alan's ear; she could tell from the way she was looking at them that she wanted to know what was going on. She is only grateful that Alan is unwilling to say anything.
"How about you guys head out before me?" Victoria told them, giving them a quick smile.
"Are you kidding me?!" Jade protested, starting to get worked up. "First of all, Mayor Laurel, thank you for welcoming us to your city but we are currently not in the position to accept any alliance. At best we can deliver the message to our leader."
"Jade, calm down. You remember what we discussed?" Tessa told her making Jade bite the bottom of her lip.
"Jade," Yuma put a hand on her shoulder. "Think about the baby."
At the mention of their baby, Jade finally dropped her offensive posture and muttered something before letting out a sigh. "FINE, fine. I will not step into this. Victoria is in charge; I am leaving. However, I have a request."
Jade pointed at Talon, surprising him. "You are a hawk, right? Can you stay here with them and when she is done fly her and Carson to us, okay?"
"Well, I do not mind," Talon answered scratching the back of his head. "I am willing to help out in any way I can. I am lucky, I might see Axel running with his small group."
Jade gives Talon a warm and welcoming smile before walking out the gate with Yuma by her side. Alan and Diego behind her are bickering again and the rest of the beastmen follow behind. Tessa gave the man a quick peck on the lips before catching up with Spike, who waited for her.
"Now that we are alone, how about we go somewhere more private?" Mayor Laurel commented, gesturing for them to follow her.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Cain whispered into Victoria's ear.
"She knows about our 'secret'," Victoria commented low enough to not catch anyone's attention. "I need to know how much she knows and if she will become a problem."
