hannah+

i finished putting on my mascara and then slid on my dress. i turned off my curling wand and checked my phone.

[aaliyah] - good luck at your event thingy. find a boy there ;)

[me]- it's work, ali. and their not boys, we're not 15 anymore

[aaliyah]- okay, then find a man ;*

i rolled my eyes and put my phone into my purse before grabbing my keys to my matte dark grey range rover and heading to work.

i know it's probably a 'basic' vehicle but i've wanted it for a while and now i finally have my own money. it has nothing to do with anyone else.

i haven't dressed up in a while. it's actually nice not looking like a bum and putting effort into my appearance.

i walked into the banquet hall being greeted by many people and put on a fake smile, trying to be polite. i was told by many people that I looked good, but i felt the opposite.

"hey johnson" i hollered, excited to see him.

"hey hannah, it's been a while" he laughed at his own sarcasm because we've seen each-other earlier today, giving me a tight hug.

"you look stunning" he smiled, using sammy's previous words.

"you do too, what are you doing here by the way?" i asked.

"he's here with me" someone spoke up.

"oh, that's cool. j, do you wanna catch up later? i have to go talk to some people" i assured johnson, awkwardly getting away from that area.

why out of all places did jack have be here? and why would johnson be with him? i know they're close but he's not a date for jack.

"han" he grabbed my wrist, "can we talk?" he asked, softly.

"i have to find my boss" i shook my head, i could feel him following behind me.

"ms. young, nice to see you" my boss smiled.

"you too" i matched his smile.

"whose this? tour date?" he asked, looking over my shoulder.

"jack, jack gilinsky sir" he gave a charming smile and shook my bosses hand firmly.

that smile always made my heart melt. tt still might but I can't help but roll my eyes at how fake he is acting at the moment.

maybe that's how he's always been in a higher place than me and made more money. being fake.

"i run the company your partnering with this even, it was passed down by my father" he said proudly.

"uour working with him?!" I exclaimed, upset with the coincidence.

"yes, he's a fine man with a fine business" mr. wentz smiled with a welcoming laugh.

"i need some air, excuse me" i sighed before exiting the building finally, after dodging many people.

"hey" jack followed me.

i ignored him and continued to leave. he has no reason to follow or bother me.

"han" he called out with a sigh.

"don't call me that" i faced him, feeling the anger built up in me.

"han, i'm sorry" he breathed.

"don't call me that. you don't get to Call me that. i am ms. young" i said firmly.

"when did you get so confident?" he asked, ignoring my demand.

"i'm not" i looked down.

"well that changed quickly" he snickered.

i turned around to leave but he grabbed my wrist for the second time.

why can't he leave me alone? he had no problem doing it when we were together.

"hey, leave the lady alone" someone demanded jack.

"who is this, your new boyfriend?" jack asked with anger.

"i'm kyle, i'm the newest member of the board of directors for her company" he spoke up.

"i'm hannah" i held my hand out.

"i know your work ms. young" he shook my hand tightly, with a warming smile.

he's pretty handsome I must say.

"give me a break" jack rolled his eyes.

"jealous i'm talking to someone other than you for five seconds?" i smirked.

"are you two together?" kyle chuckled.

"not anymore, we were" i sighed.

"she hates me now" he faced kyle.

"i don't hate you" i continued to sigh.

"your sure acting like it" he raised his voice a little.

"you hurt me really bad jack" i told him honestly, "this is a business event, i can't discuss this here. i'm so sorry for distributing you, kyle. have a nice night" i a gave a quick smile to kyle and sighed before heading to my car.

i went to shut my door but it wouldn't close.

"you can't 'discuss' here right?" he asked.

"you know this, jack" i sighed in annoyance.

"then let's go somewhere" he said, getting into the passenger seat of my car.

"what? no. i'm going home" i bluntly told him.

"then we'll go there" he shrugged.

"not happening" i laughed.

"why not?" he frowned.

"are you serious?" i asked in disbelief and he nodded.

i rolled my eyes and headed towards jack's house. he doesn't deserve to be in my home.
