The silence of trenches, come take me
Heave against battles, fight for my destiny
Darling, I love you too much as I have seen
But would you love me too if we reveal what has been?
There is a story about times well spent
Should we reap or should we, in ashes, repent?
I am sitting in the dark, stroking my forehead
I am out of ideas to even think fully ahead
I don't know why—I wish I have all the answers
The eyes are closing but all we get are banters
In the dark, all we have is our own misery
We are love, we are pain, we are adversity

I have been warned—that much I can say
But I didn't listen so now sins are bright as day
I've seen enough love films, wrote enough songs
For me to know how to see all the wrongs
But why do these emotions feel brand new?
As every memory, every curve reminds me of you
Darling, I asked for it but I haven't thought of the price
So don't expect me to shoulder everything on the dice
To a wounded heart, everything is to blame
To a guilty mind, every chance is the same
Now that we are at the end of our own story
We are duty, we are havoc, we are adversity

After years of doing this much like this
We fall, we shatter, we pick up the pieces
We stare up at the sky and wonder where are the graces
Where is the mercy offered at the hardest of places
So far nothing has ever prepared me for pain
It shouldn't be that bad but it seems love is in vain
To throw myself into oceans that I avoided for years
Takes so much courage just to confront the fears
But I have to do it because I needed to set myself free
So here I go, I look at the lens in search of glory
But all I found were the truth of our own mystery
That we are chaos, we are danger, we are adversity

It seems hard—to accept things just as they are
You would want to fight, to last until the final hour
But the facts are there—we are just too blind to see
Years and years passed until it became a malady
Things rot, surely feelings do too
So now we are reaping trauma from who knows who
Darling, we tried our best but we should stay no longer
It's hard but for a certain time will make it better
I know the truth so farewell I will have to offer
I hope you stay safe even with this storm you'll weather
If you don't see it, listen, and let me tell you clearly
We are storms, we are blood—together, we are adversity

It seems hard—to accept things just as they areYou would want to fight, to last until the final hourBut the facts are there—we are just too blind to seeYears and years passed until it became a maladyThings rot, surely feelings do tooSo now we are ...
