Winds of time, come cradle me now
In this cold weather, this cold, worthless vow
The night is deep, the rain is loud
What would happen now that the heart is proud?
Feelings and lies, they are all too twined
Dreams and worth, by Heaven's wrath, they signed
The words poured, the heart is shown pure
All admire honesty, all who knows what's sure
The world looks for things most familiar and bright
They found it in the simplest of things despite
So we write stories about love, we sing songs about love
But, trust me, we are never loved

Why do you think it's supposed to be that way?
Why do people cry over love's emotionless sway?
Why is it that to get attention
It would have to be all about this emotion?
Why must everything we do be all about this?
If we can't, are we not human—will our existence cease?
Because this feeling is the most idolized of all
Every cranny, every nook, love has completed its crawl
The world is rarely fair, the nights go deeper
The sun dims and the threads snap together
Because we might write songs and stories about our love
But, trust me, we are never loved

Winds of change, throw me asunder on rocks ashore
In the harsh truth, the bitter pain of a sore
Not all find love, not all understand it
So why must we pine, why must we still sit?
Why would we still have to wait, to fix ourselves
Why must we present ourselves like cans on shelves?
Why do we bother pleasing the court
Why must we be accepted by the sort?
Because this is the world we currently live in
Where diamonds pale and being loveless is a sin
So now, we write songs and stories about love
Just so we can avoid feeling like we are never loved

The night is deep, the heart is cold
The passion is dead, the castle is sold
The pain is tired, bitter is the world
The rain has stopped, the camera rolled
Reality is but a show we are forced to act
The mind is lost, society declares what's intact
Pieces fall as shards take their place
Blood is but a silent reminder of one case
The world is never really fair, the days go quicker
Every silence, every word now has a filter
So we write stories about love, we sing songs about love
But deep inside, we feel as though we are never loved

The night is deep, the heart is coldThe passion is dead, the castle is soldThe pain is tired, bitter is the worldThe rain has stopped, the camera rolledReality is but a show we are forced to actThe mind is lost, society declares what's intactPiece...

Well uh, that's a bit of uninspired poetry right there. I'm sure you can feel it too. lol.

I thought about the final lines to every stanza as I was walking to the comfort room one day and I wanted to write it. So I did.

This was written on October 2020, so fairly recent as of time of publishing. I wrote it during a storm at 12 am in the morning. Why am I awake at that time? Trust me, I sleep at 2 am nowadays. lol.

This poem basically tackles the current society where people are forced to find love in order to be socially acceptable. It may not be evident in your culture, wherever you are, but in my peers and the people around me, it certainly is. And this is also me thinking about the fact that I may or may not be an ace. haha.

How about you? What do you think of this poem? Comment below. :)
