Isn't it scenic—how we found love in each other's eyes?
It was sweet, it was heaven, it was emotions large in size
I remember it all too well—how the stars shone
Upon us, I remember how I never felt so alone
Because I'm with you, could I even ask for more?
We are peace, we are  closed faith and an open door
The wind blows yet the sky is bright
The sun shines, the moon rises, the future is in sight
My love, we are doves catching waves of uncertainty
Down the blunder, up against ourselves, truly
Painting landscapes and escaping our ruthless story
I stare at horizons, searching for eternity

Haze broke loose, I remember how it started
Embers fade, hearts hide, as peace eventually parted
Joy dampened, patience is all tested
Trust is paid, lies are crafted and bested
Searching for the reason to fight, to stay here
I remember looking up and catching regrets to stir
The failing greed, the illusions not spent
Desires to gamble, now anger has started to pent
We have a choice, I swear, we do
Should I remain where I was, just for you?
In the silence of the waves, I start to find my clarity
But I don't find it on the horizons of our safety

Isn't it cynic—how we murdered each other in a slice
It was bitter, it was hell, it was all blood and ice
I saw it all too well—how we stared at our mess
The way our eyes gleamed, we know it was nothing less
Of hard strife, the one we kept going for years
The price to pay, the vessels collecting our own tears
We have a way out but we didn't take it
Like foolish hearts on cue, we refuse the beat
So now we look upon the cause of our misery
We look in the mirror—our eyes reflected agony
Turmoil in mind, should I do what's best for me?
I don't know, so I look at our horizons that I care to see

Chains clicked shut, I remember how it all ended
Too many nights have we spent—never rested
What more could I gain, what more will I save
Will I have to carry sins and guilts down to my grave?
Years passed, and I never did challenge my place
Decades crawl, did I ever stumble upon grace?
What the future holds, do we really want to know
Our place on the earth, what seed do we need to sow?
In the dead of night, I sat—wide awake
I remember past sins and I forgave for my sake
Stood apart from the falling debris of my own sanity
I realize we went beyond horizons against our destiny

Chains clicked shut, I remember how it all endedToo many nights have we spent—never restedWhat more could I gain, what more will I saveWill I have to carry sins and guilts down to my grave?Years passed, and I never did challenge my placeDecades cr...

This could be on my strongest pieces list but it could also be not. Lol. I love the premise of this poem but not the content, itself.

How about you? What do you think of this poem? Comment below. :)
