Hope is your best friend
Because it helps you in the end
To survive if you're starving
And you'll be carving
Your own world where
Everything is peacefully -
The opposite of here
Where wars destroy people,
Whole countries left in the dark,
And not a single landmark
Is still there where
The hate of the people
Is wasting everywhere
Hope can make it easier
For all the people suffering from pain
With a big heavy chain
Around their heart
Hope's like the little spark
In the all-surrounding dark
Hope is a terrible friend
Making you believe everything
Will be fine in the end,
Whispering into your ear
You don't have to fear
A single thing
That there's still good where
Darkness already destroyed
Everything that once was there
I'm so annoyed
By this depraved world
But all you hear
Is you deserve to be saved
But sometimes that's just a wish
And sometimes it's selfish
To think that everything will end up good
For you while other people are dying,
'Cause they can't get enough food
Or the people who are lying
In a hospital and barely trying
To survive
And that's just an example
So my question to you:
Is hope really a good feeling,
'Cause you don't even recognize that it's steeling
You every connection to reality
Or is it the only thing that makes life worth living
Because otherwise we'd get crazy
In that world full of dark
Full of people with stone hearts
