Chapter 7

The next morning Ella was the first one to wake up. She had to take a few seconds to remember were she was but when she did a light smile appeared on the girl's face. Carina and Maya were nice, they gave her yummy food, toys all to herself and even read a bedtime story with her. She certainly liked this place better than the group home

She didn't know what time it was but it was definitely early. The house was on complete silence and although Ella did try to go back to sleep it seemed to be impossible. 

After a few minutes the colorful blocks with letters on them that she had been playing with the night before caught her eye. They were placed just like she left them. At the group home they had a specific time to play and that time wasn't the mornings. Ella sticked to the rules... she didn't like getting in trouble. However, this time the four-year-old decided that maybe she could go play for a little bit. If she wasn't loud there shouldn't be a problem right? 

She slowly sat on the bed with Cuddles right next to her and slipped off her mattress, feeling a shiver go through her body when her bare feet touched the cold floor. She quickly made her way towards the little carpet that had the blocks over it 

In the other room, Maya, who had just woken up, smiled at the sight of a still sleeping Carina. The brunette had turned in her sleep and was know facing her, allowing Maya to study each one of her features 

"I can feel you staring bambina" the Italian said smiling, opening her eyes to be met by that pair of blue eyes she loved the most "Good morning" she whispered 

"Morning" Maya said leaning in to plant a soft kiss on her wife's lips. Quickly the kiss got deeper until it was interrupted by sonds coming from the baby monitor, telling them Andrea was awake "He can wait" she said between kisses but ended up chuckling when they heard the baby monitor again 

"Maybe not" the brunette said as she smiled "I'll go for the little bella while you go get him" she said making the blonde nod  

Maya was the one to usually get Andrea in the mornings while Carina stayed in bed a little longer. However, now they had another little one on the house 

Carina got up and slowly made her way to the toddler's room preparing herself to wake up the toddler. Even so, she stopped herself when she heard little giggles coming from the four-year-old's bedroom 

She turned the knob slowly and pushed the door slightly before she wedged her fingers between the crack and opened it the rest of the way. When the door opened, it revealed a little Ella who was kneeling on the ground placing her blocks one next to another 

"Good morning bella" Carina said softly in an attempt to not scare the little girl. Ella, however, unaware of the presence of the woman, jumped at the sudden voice letting go of the blocks as quick as she could "I'm sorry" the brunette said swiftly "What do you have there?" she said approaching the little girl crouching next to her 

"Blocks..." she answered looking down 

"I see that" the brunette said as she smiled noticed the blocks placed in a specific order "You know what does it say there?" 

"My name" the girl said looking up "E" she said as she pointed her finger to the block that had the letter on it "L" she said repeating her motions "anot'er L and A" she said as she finished spelling her name "Ella"

"Good job!" Carina praised the kid making the girl look down shyly "You are so smart" she said making the girl smile as her cheeks got colored with a light red "How did you learn to do that?" she said and the girl just shuggred 

"Morning" Maya, that was looking at the interaction between her wife and Ella, said   

"'mma" the boy on the blonde's arms said reaching his arms to the brunette who smiled as she stood up
