TRISTAN POV

"Could you drive any slower?" I asked, getting impatient. I just really wanted to get home and call Becky, maybe even go to Stars Hollow. She went to California this summer and she was always out so we didn't talk much. I'd talk to Nia but it wasn't the same.

"About time," I muttered as the driver pulled up to my driveway. I got out of the car while taking my bags with me and headed for the door. I was about to open it when I heard a voice.

"Muy bien Abuelo, ¿y usted?" I stopped in my tracks recognizing that voice. "Nah, it's not her. You just miss her." I thought to myself. I was about to head inside when I heard another voice. ("Very good Grandpa, and you?")

"Rebecca," I froze when I heard her grandmother's annoying voice say her name. She really was here. Dropping my bags, I jogged next door in hopes of seeing my best friend.

"Thank God!" I thought, seeing as her back was facing me. I really wanted to surprise her. I started to make my way toward her, yelling her name as she was about to go inside.

"Rebecca Alvarez Medoza," she slowly turned around, beaming when she caught sight of me.

"Tristan!" she yelled as she raced toward me. As soon as she was in arm's reach I wrapped my arms around her and hoisted her up, wrapping her legs around my torso.

"I miss you, you dumb fuck," she said as she snuggled her head on my shoulder. I looked up at her with a puzzled expression.

"We don't talk all summer and that's the first thing you say to me?!" I asked while chuckling.

"Hey! Did you not hear the part about me missing you?" she asked defensively. I was about to respond but we were interrupted by a fake cough. I looked up to see Amelia Mendoza's disapproving stare. I quickly put Becky down and let go of her.

"Hello, Mrs. Mendoza," I greet nervously, scratching the back of my neck.

"Tristan. Will you be coming in?" she asked somewhat genuinely. I wasn't really sure on what to say so I turned to look at Becky. After seeing the hopeful look on her face I knew I had to go in. Her grandmother liked me for some reason but seemed to hate the fact that I was best friends with Becky. Probably because of her stupid ass grudge against Angela and the fact that Becky was born with light skin - compared to her brothers - and colored eyes.

"Uh yeah, I'll be coming in," I said. Becky smiled at me before hugging me again. We walked in to be greeted by a maid waiting to take our jackets, after handing her mine I turned to see Sebastian, Becky's dad, and her grandfather.

"Hello, Mr. Mendoza," I said as I shook the older man's hand. I turned to Becky's father and shook his hand as well. "Matteo," I said, ever since we met he insisted on me calling him Matteo, he said something about feeling old when I called him mister. I turned to Sebastian and nodded my head in acknowledgment, he did the same.

"Are you done? Can we go now?" Becky asked me. I could tell she was getting impatient so I nodded my head. She then grabbed my arm and dragged me to her room - her grandparents never got rid of them after they moved out.

When we got to her room we threw ourselves on her bed, both facing the ceiling. After a few seconds, she turned to look at me, "So, how was your summer?"

BECKY POV

I guess time does fly when you're having fun because before I knew it, it was Sunday morning. I woke up due to the fucking sun in my eyes, as I was stretching I felt a body next to mine. Quickly turning around to check if it was a murderer, I realized it was just Tristan. We must've fallen asleep sometime during our movie marathon.

He began to stir and his eyes fluttered open, lazily smiling at me, "G'morning Becky,"

Rolling my eyes, I jumped over him and got off my bed. "Come on, get up. Tengo hambre." I said while putting on a random hoodie. ("I'm hungry,")

With a groan and a disapproving glare, Tristan reluctantly got up and followed me to the kitchen. "Come on! It's barely 9! Can't we go back to your room and sleep a little more?" he pleaded as he sat on one of the counters, sending me his best puppy dog eyes.

Knowing I couldn't resist them, I turned around, "No, I'm hungry so I'm making breakfast for everyone. So, either you get off your ass and help me or you go to your house and I'll leave without saying goodbye." I immediately winced at my words, realizing how harsh they seemed. "Sorry if I sounded like a bitch, that might've been too harsh. You can go up to my room and sleep a bit more if you want."

"Nah, it's alright," he said, brushing it off. Suddenly feeling extremely grateful for having him in my life, I rushed toward him and wrapped my arms around him.

"I love you, Tristan," I mumbled into his chest "I don't know what I'd do without you or Nia in my life. You are the only two people that can deal with my and my problems."

"I love you more, Beck"

"Yeah, you do. Hasta aprendiste Español por me." I teased looking up at him, causing him to scoff. ("You even learned Spanish for me")

"I did not! I learned Spanish so I could talk shit about people with you and Nia, not for you."

"Yeah, keep telling yourself that. Ok, so I'm gonna make scrambled eggs. Can you play some music and toast bread slices?" I asked as I walked toward the fridge, taking the egg carton out. I was in the process of cracking the eggs when the music started, causing me to stop in my tracks.

"What?" Tristan asked, noticing the disgusted expression on my face.

"Nothing, it's just that your music taste is ass." I scoffed as I put in an AC/DC cd, suddenly feeling a presence behind me. Looking up, I saw Tristan holding the egg mixture over my head, a smug look gracing his features.

"Tristan, please don't," I pleaded, a nervous laugh escaping my lips.

"Yeah, or what?"

"I'll beat the shit out of you," I stated, confident in my response. I might look harmless, but growing up with 2 brothers and Tristan taught me a thing or two when it came to fights. I would've beaten the shit out of them if it weren't for my parents breaking us up on many occasions.

Just as he was about to respond we were interrupted by someone clearing their throat. Tristan put the bowl down and turned around, catching my grandmother's disapproving glare.

"What are you doing?" she asked. Clearly annoyed that we were in her kitchen.

"We woke up early and decided to make everyone breakfast," I said as I started to grease a pan. She gave us one last look of disapproval before turning on her heel and exiting the kitchen. As soon as out of earshot, I turned to look at Tristan causing us to burst into fits of laughter.

"Adiós Abuelo. a ver si vengo pal fin de semana, o usted va a visitar nos." I said, wrapping my arms around my grandfather. ("Bye Grandpa. Let's see if I come this weekend, or you come and visit us.")

"A ver si voy yo, no he ido en un rato," he responded. ("Let's see if I go, I haven't gone in a while.")

Giving my grandmother a one-worded goodbye, I turned to my blonde best friend. "I'll call you later. You should come over, my mom misses you,"

"I'll think about it. I'm still giving you a ride home after practice though, and going to all your games starting next week." we stood there hugging each other for what felt like forever, just enjoying each other's company. Only letting go when my dad called for me, saying it was time to go.
