season 4 episode 8

_____

ANASTASIA'S BREATH GOT CAUGHT IN HER THROAT. Panic surged through her veins when she noticed that Nancy's eyes had rolled into the back of her head, they all raced into Eddie's bedroom searching through all his belongings for some music that they could use on Nancy but so far, they had no luck. Nancy hadn't spoken about getting Vecna's curse, so he must have known that they were there and had aimed at Nancy. She dug through his large stack of clothes, rummaging through and groaning when no music disks could be found.

"What is all this shit?!" Robin yelled, holding up numerous disks.

Eddie stormed back into the room with Delilah on his tail, "I mean, what are you even looking for?!"

"Madonna, Blondie, Bowie, Beatles? Music! We need music!" Robin exclaimed.

Eddie grabbed the disk from her hand, and screamed. "This is music!"

Anastasia ignored their arguing and continued searching. Tensions were running high in his small trailer and then suddenly, Steve stopped screaming for Nancy to wake up. She had awoken from Vecna's curse, and was in the arms of Steve who was trying to calm her down, but from the look in her eyes, Nancy was clearly shaken up by whatever had happened to her. Anastasia suddenly felt guilty for thinking that Nancy was trying to get back together with Steve when she clearly had her own problems going on.

Nancy was still dealing with the guilt of her best friend, Barbara's death and still felt as though it was her fault and with Anastasia feeling jealous, she hadn't even checked up on her friend yet. Once Steve told them all she was awake again, they climbed through to Eddie's trailer immediately as Nancy started to explain what was going on inside of Max's trailer. "He showed me things that haven't happened yet. The most awful things. I saw...a dark cloud spreading over Hawkins. Downtown on fire. Dead soldiers. And this...this giant creature with a gaping mouth. And this creature wasn't alone. There were so many monsters."

Anastasia felt a shill run up her spine as she took in Nancy's words. Her hand connected with Steve's as he squeezed it gently, reminding her that he was still there with her. Nancy's description of what was going to happen to Hawkins' terrified her, but it also made her more determined to fight against Vecna. They had fought for so long that the battle needed to end. They had won before, so they could win again.

Nancy continued, her voice were hoarse. "An army. And they were coming into Hawkins. Into our neighborhoods. Our homes. And then...he showed me my mom. And Holly. Mike. And they...they were all..."

She found it too difficult to finish of the rest so Steve spoke. "Okay, but...he's just trying to scare you, Nance. Right? I mean....I mean, it's not real."

"Not yet." Nancy whispered with tear stained cheeks. "But there....there was something else. He showed me gates. Four gates. Spreading across Hawkins. And these gates, they looked like the one outside of Eddie's trailer, but....they didn't stop growing. And this wasn't the Upside Down Hawkins. This was our Hawkins. Our home."

"Four chimes." Max suddenly announced.

Anastasia knew what she was talking about and added. "Vecna's clock. It always chimes four times. Four exactly."

"I heard them too." Nancy said.

Everyone remained silent until Max scoffed. "He's been telling us his plan this whole time."
