When they arrived at the field the sect leaders were on their seats and the disciples were in formation, the 5 had taken their own formation.

Lan Wangji noticed something different with the sitting.

This time Wen Xu was present which sent alarm Bells on his head.

He decided to keep close watch on the Wens except for the ones Wei Wuxian trusts of course.

And so Wei Wuxian and himself went towards where their Clan has been assigned to stand.

"Xiongzhang."

"Xichen-ge."

"You four took your time." he commented.

"Sorry Xiongzhang, got lost." and Lan Wangji was back at his stoic demeanor because it was time to get serious.

Lan Wangji then faced from to listen what the Wen general was saying.

He didn't pay attention his eyes were focused at Wen Xu who was sitting across Wen Chao.

'This must be the butterfly effect, I should be careful' Lan Wangji made a mental note about that.

"Wait!" Wen Chao said as the general was going to start the competition.

"What is he doing here!?" Wen Chao pointed at Wen Ning "Can he even shoot a single arrow!?"

As Wei Wuxian was going to retort Wen Ning spoke "I C-can!" He managed to say which made Wen Chao's brow twitch.

"Oh yeah? Show me then?"

Wen Ning took a deep breath as he then turned to one of the nearby targets and pulled out a bow and arrow.

'Calm.'

'Aim.'

'And Shoot!'

He was surprised he managed to shoot a target in front of many people.

Wen Ning turned and saw Wei Wuxian who smiled at him.

'You did good!' He saw the older mouthed at him which made him smile.

"Hmph! Fine! He can join! See if I care!?" And so the archery competition went with a start.

"Father may I Join?"

Wen Ruohan couldn't care less and made his son go.

"A-Jie, come, let's shoot together." Jiang Wanyin said as he saw his sister staring at the Jin Heir 'What does she even see in him?!' Jiang Wanyin will find the perfect man for his A-Jie to marry, Jin Zixuan is not good enough for her.

Jiang Yanli sighed but smiled "Let's go." She hoped that they could meet in between, and hopefully she would not leave the ground early.

As they were shooting their arrows on a few targets another arrow had stolen their supposed to be prey.

Jiang Wanyin turned and saw Wen Chao "You!"

Wen Chao raised a brow before sneering "What? Can I not hunt here too? You are in Qishan, in my property, I can walk and shoot wherever I wish to shoot!"

"A-Cheng, don't be rash, let's continue shooting." Jiang Yanli called her brother down.

"Why don't you listen to that coreless sister of yours eh? It seems that she knows a lot more than you?" Wen Chao smirked.

"A-Cheng." Jiang Yanli scolded and the two continued shooting until Wen Chao's arrow had hit Jiang Yanli's target which had called her out.

"Ah, A-Cheng I have missed, I will return." She smiled sadly 'I wasn't able to see A-Xuan.' she thought.
