when i got back to the mall, i was instantly bombarded  by the five, asking me where i had been, was i hurt, and why did i leave

i did nothing but hand over the playing card to arisu, he looked confused but once he realized it was a hearts he gasped

“you…went into a game? alone?! what were you thinking?” karube said, he had been extremely worried, he had lashed out at the others before i was back

“you should’ve taken one of us with you” chota said, eyes glossy

“look at the card!” i said “it was a hearts game” i lowered my head, mind flashing the dead bodies of the teenage boys “you guys wouldn't have made it out alive” i pushed past them, i understand they were worried, but i currently had the worst guilt i've ever felt in my life

“we’ll go out tomorrow, to look for the beach, kay?” you said “lets just…get it done with” you were tired, so you made your way to one of the stores with beds, ugh, thank god they put comfortable streets on these things

the next day, we decided to play games without each other if it came to it, i had almost two weeks on my visa so id be good, the others had a week and some days, we made the plan of looking out for anyone at games that might be apart of the beach

it took us awhile to find anyone with the bracelets, or for them to realize, i was paired with usagi and shibuki, and the boys were pair together at a different game, watching out for someone, we had played a few games in our time, each exhausting and traumatizing, but only leaving with slight injuries

usagi pointed out the wrist band, and the others realized there were quite a few people at their game with the bands too

after the game ended we stalked the two players that were there, they had gotten into a car and sped away, the three of us ran after it after alerting arisu and the other two, they had done the same thing

after awhile, it led us to it, we were still a little far away, it was surrounded by water, it used to be a hotel, we all leaned over the ledge to look at it

“how do they have electricity?” chota said

“i don't know, but we will find the find the answers to our questions there” shobuki said

and suddenly we were all knocked out, and when we opened our eyes, we were all tied up, it must've been the next morning because the room was bright

“good morning” a woman said, with a huge smile on her face, mira

“im sorry if we were too rough” she smiled “we just heard there were people sneaking out”

“whats going on here?” karube was the first to speak “what are these games?!”

the door opened from beside us, a man walked in “we have all the answers you’re looking for”

he stood behind me and arisu “welcome” he leaned towards arisu “to the beach, the utopia!”

he stood straight, pointing to the wall in front of us “this…is the answer to your questions” the wall opened to reveal life sized versions of the playing cards with most having a big x over them, indicating they already had them

“there’s only one way out of this hellish nightmare” he started “we clear the games, collect all the playing cards”

“so if we get them all, we can go back to our world?” shibuki asked

“we?” he turned around slowly “there is no we, only one person can return back to the original world”

“only one person?” chota whimpered

“its impossible for a single person to play all of these games and gather the 52 cards, you cannot leave this country by being alone, this is why we unite as one, to let someone leave the country, this is the beach’s objective” he walked towards the group

“i heard that you have in your possession, amazing cards, ill have you six play your part, and help us gather the remaining cards”

“what if we refuse?” karube said, a glare evident in his eyes

“you cant reject me” he laughed “your visas are expiring tonight” he picked up the paper that had your process “you have no choice but to play, don't you?

usagi spoke “we can return if we help gather cards?”

“i cannot reveal much information, but i have a good source for that, before you six even arrived, we had investigated everything about this country”

“you've been referring to this place as a country, why is that?” arisu asked

“we have been issued visas, means this is a country, the people in tokyo didn't disappear, we think we may have entered another country accidentally, if that is true, then there is a way back”

mira spoke up “we’ve created a organization here”

ann spoke after “fuels are used to generate electricity, while rain water is used a water supply”

“we even secured firearms around the country, only a selected few are allowed to use them, and” he sat up “there are only three rules in our utopia”

“rule one, you must always wear swimsuits at the beach, this is because you cant hide guns or other weapons in a swimsuit, you’re free to drink, do drugs, and have sex, feel free to live your life to the fullest! who knows when you will die here? we’ve damaged every lock with superglue, no hiding anything from us”

“rule number two, all playing cards belong to the beach, we will take away all cards you six have gathered, those who have gathered the most useful ones will be promoted to higher numbers, once we work together to get one person out, once we get enough duplicated cards, a second will leave, and a third, a fourth, and so on, a day will come when everyone here can leave!

“what if…we reject your offer?” arisu said, fright was pictured all over his face

“rule number three” he turned back to us “the last rule of the beach”

“death to the traitors”

“we have all vowed to help the first departure of the country, at the cost our our lives, its our mission! our duty! those who do not? will not be shown mercy from the beach” hatter started looking through our cards, and started laughing

he lifted the card, seven of hearts, one of the last numbered cards they needed “luck is on our side! we are one step closer to departure! thank you! we will consider promoting you six to a higher number”

“enjoy your stay at the beach!”
