A/N: reminder that y/n has no knowledge of this game because she was transported right before she watched the last episode!

mira stood before you in a beautiful flowy black dress, her hands happily clasped together

"here is the game we are about to play! difficulty level, queen of hearts, croquet!" she extend her arms with excitement while you and chishiya only stared at her

"croquet?" that old game? that's seriously what this game was?

"often called lawn billiards, it's a ball game that was popularized in 19th century england, I'm afraid it's not very well known in japan"

chishiya looked unfazed by everything, as usual

"so what are we doing? whoever wins the most rounds lives to see another day?" you said

mira only smiled "actually, it won't matter if you win or lose"

chishiya hummed while you looked at her in confusion

"to clear this game, you simply need to play three rounds of croquet without quitting, if you quit before we're done it's game over, you could even have weapons! the only rule is to complete three rounds"

"if we just play until the end we'll clear the game even if we don't win? that's easy, shouldn't this be a hard game?" was this really the last game?

"this is a hearts game, y/n, remember that, she's here to fuck with us" chishiya placed his hand on your arm, he knew you were strong, but he was afraid you could be manipulated if she played smart

"y/n's right! it's so easy" she giggled as she turned around "now, let's enjoy ourselves"

you actually didn't know how to play croquet, so you nudged chishiya and whispered

"do you know how to play this?" he only shrugged, he's a doctor do you really think he knows how to play this? but thankfully mira explained to you how it goes

"the game is played with a wooden mallet and two balls, you must hit both balls through six hoops in a prearranged order and then hit the finishing peg before the other player to win"

mira chose you as her opponent, leaving chishiya to sit and watch

mira went first, successfully aiming her blue ball into the first hoop

when you did it you missed horribly, somehow not even hitting the hoop and you could hear chishiya chuckle

"douchebag" you mumbled

after a few more tries you eventually got one in, it was obvious mira would win the first round, but you were confused, why was she playing so happily? she was going to die, what was wrong with her?

mira won round one, and you immediately played the next, only two more rounds...

throughout the second round you noticed she kept fucking up on propose so the game lasted longer, and you unfortunately sucked at the game, so you couldn't even do anything about it

she hadn't made one into the hoop by the time you got your first, she made one when you got three, two when you got five, and finally you won

you smiled and sighed of relief, that took absolutely forever and your side still hurt from the wound earlier

chishiya even clapped for you as you bowed as if there were a audience

"you're talented, y/n" mira smiled "looks like I've lost this round"

"time for round three" you said but mira didn't seem into it

"I'm feeling a bit weary, why don't we have some tea?"
