i woke up the next morning by usagi and karube, usagi was opening the curtains in my room to make me get up faster, and karube was leaning on the door
“did you get any useful information?” karube asked, i shook my head “i got trauma dumped on, but hatters insane”
“knew that one already” karube looked to usagi “i didn’t get anything either”
“seems like hatter took a liking to you” usagi said “and the militants have their eye on you, so be careful, you don’t know what they’re capable of”
after that we met up, and we all had turns asking people stuff about the games, we got many alien theories and things that didn’t matter at all
“the more i hear the more depressing it gets” arisu said
“our only hope really do rely on those cards” shibuki sighed, half of the group parted ways to go to the basement, while me arisu and shibuki stayed outside
arisu tried to get momoka’s and asahi’s attention, but i got distracted by the sound of the dumpster opening and closing, shibuki followed me when i rounded the corner to get a closer look, and soon after arisu followed
the two took the lead, and headed closer to it as the three guys with guns walked away, arisu lifted the top off of it and they both saw many dead bodies, of the people who betrayed the beach, their bodies blue and cold
“that is the true nature of this utopia” we heard a voice from in front of us, shibuki hurried to push me behind her in a protective trance
it was only chishiya and kuina though “this is apart of the beach’s rule, death to the traitors”
we followed them to the rooftop
“your group seems to have collected a vast amount of information, what are you planning?”
“not much” arisu said
“ill cut to the chase, how will you live in this world thats full of despair?”
“how? we just want to know the answers to our questions” shibuki glared at chishiya
“the ones behind these crazy games, we’re all going to survive and return to the original world, but if thats not possible, i want y/n to return at the very least” i smiled at arisu, and he shyly smiled back
“what a tearjerker” chishiya said with no emotion in his voice at all “your dream, its cool, but its not practical at all”
“you’ll have to win all the games and become the next number one, but thats impossible”
“its nothing to do with you guys, i think you have potential”
“what?”
“thats why we came to meet you”
“what do you mean?”
“what if i told you, there was a way to change the status quo (a/n: when the fuck did he say this?? i do not remember this) all at once?”
hatter left that morning to explore games, we met back up with the other three
“they were kept in the deepest room in the annex, and there were patrols too” usagi said “as long as they have those guns hatter will be in a advantageous positon”
we stopped and looked out the window, hatter had left the previous night, and then we decided to tell them about chishiya’s plan
as we walked down a hall, two patrols stopped us, including niragi
“you guys aren't supposed to be here” no one could talk as chishiya walked over “i called her over”
niragi rolled his eyes “don’t go gathering people on your own”
“we have something important to talk about” since he only called me i was the only one to go inside the room, waving to the others
on the table in the room, was hatter’s body
“it seems like he didn’t clear the game, the maintenance team found in shinjuku while refilling gasoline” ann went to touch him but niragi protested
“don’t just touch him as you please, dissection maniac” ann didn’t listen and looked at the wound on his chest “he was shot, did his game involve guns?”
“most likely, those near the area heard gunshots” tatta told her
“oh my! he should have brought the militants along with him!” niragi laughed
i looked to chishiya to find him looking at me, gesturing to not speak
everyone in the room seemed to be distraught, one person spoke up “whats gonna happen to the beach?”
“keep this a secret from the rest, they’ll be shaken” mira said
“ill be the next leader, since im number two”
“wait a second! shouldn’t the strongest person be the leader?” niragi said, walking in between the other dude and aguni “We’re the ones who have been getting rid of the traitors but we’re treated as shadows all the time! that treatment ends today!”
“if number one dies we go up a number, thats what we decided on”
niragi scoffed “that idiot is dead, power has shifted, lets be democratic and go with the majority, who agrees for aguni to be the next leader?” no one said anything,
“what a bad reaction! last boss?” last boss got up from where he was leaning and walked to ann
“who agrees that aguni should be the next leader?” ann raised her head
“this is not a majority rule” mira said
“it is, isn't it? you’re free to vote after all” he stuck his tongue out and she slowly raised her hand
he smirked and looked towards the guy with lasses “what about former number two over there?, what will you do?” the guy sighed but put his hand up anyway
most of the people in the room slowly put their hands up, niragi looked to chishiya and walked to him, gun in hand and pointed it at him
“are you looking down on us, chishiya?”
“but you guys really are stupid”
niragi grabbed him by hoodie “you really piss me off, your too condescending” chishiya put his hands up in a mocking way
“i vote for aguni to be the leader” he said in a sarcastic tone
niragi looked to me, and i gave him my best “i dont give a shit” look “what about you, pretty?”
he walked closer to me, he was intimidating, but i didn’t really care at that moment
i raised my hand “i don’t know you guys well enough but i would rather die in a game than be shot in this moment, last boss tried to scare me but jumping over to me but i knew he was gonna do it so i just gave him a weird look instead of flinching
niragi laughed and clapped “i knew i liked you for a reason! alright! suddenly everyone’s voting yes, so the leader is decided!”
“hatter wouldn’t allow this!” mira said
“too bad hes dead then” niragi walked closer to his corpse to prove a point, and started beating it with his gun “dead people dont know whats going on!” he finished it by spitting on him
“from today onwards, i will be the beach’s new king” aguni said
“isn't this wonderful!” niragi started clapping again “‘all thats left is the succession ceremony, lets open the black envelope”
