seven years later

Cassian's arms are around me as I hold him tight to me, pressing a kiss to his cheek, before letting him walk to my father. Cassian has changed my life for the past few years.

As we stood in front of Alexander's grave, Father held my son Cassian by the hand. Avery tightened his arm around my shoulder, knowing how hard this was for me.

Six years ago, my father divorced my stepmother and has done everything he could to reconcile with me after I told him he had to choose between me or Silas. I wouldn't have forgiven him if it weren't for Avery who pushed me to give him a chance.

Five years ago, Avery and I married in a small, private ceremony with our closest friends and family. Avery proposed with his mother's ring, a Dragomir's family heirloom after Alexandra filed for a divorce. She blessed us with happy tears, saying my mother would have cried too. Kalina, now one of the most coveted fashionistas, designed my exclusive wedding dress. Mason, who told Avery he was planning on proposing to Kalina, sang a ballad at our reception. Bianca and Tyson came together, admitting they started dating as I hoped.

Pierre walked me down the aisle and gave me away to Avery, informing me, "Ms. Du Sang, you deserve happiness."

Helen, now my closest friend, was the bridesmaid who caught the bouquet of flowers. She graduated from Princeton and was now pursuing a medical degree. "I want to help people," Helen tells me, "After everything I've done, this is my way of atonement."

A little girl with bright blue eyes peeped out from behind her. She was Cassian's age. Helen's son, Lyla Lorani and has never met her father. I wondered who the father was but Helen refused to tell anyone and so I never pushed it.

Cole and Gloria were trying a relationship for their son, Matteo. Their relationship surprised me but it was one of stability and trust. Gloria had taken it upon herself to apologize for almost killing and paying someone to sexually assault me. Avery still openly treated her with hostility and while I didn't like her, I tried not to hold it against her for Cole.

As it turned out, it didn't matter, because a month later, Gloria vanished with his son, leaving nothing but signed divorce papers and a note saying "Cole, if you truly love your son, prove it. Be a father for once and don't search for us."

Four years ago, we welcomed our first born son Cassian Alexander Du Sang-Dragomir, a brilliant boy who had his father's bright silver eyes and my brother's soul.

"I'm glad you went with my name suggestion. Cassian suits him," Helen grinned, nuzzling my son, who laughed sweetly. "Oh, he's so adorable. I'll be the best godmother to Cassian. You'll see."

Three years ago, Avery retired from football to work on his start-up, now worth over a fortune. My ocean-floating city had begun the process of being built in Singapore and other countries like South Korea. My next project was potentially with Cole, who now worked at a private space agency, which would be exploring a possible city on the moon or Mars.

Cole had remarried Blair Al Nahyan, who was an amber-eyed beauty with a royal bloodline, though she wasn't titled. Known for her beauty, she apparently had hundreds of suitors who asked for her hand until she met Cole at a research conference in Britain.

They had a son, Prince Asto Al Nahyan, who was a year younger than Cassian but just as mature. The two boys became inseparable as friends, much to Avery and Cole's dismay. Lyla played with them too.

We also sued to help the mothers of Silas' daughters to protect Willow and Dawn from him. Then, I leaked the falsified lab results from Silas' research and threw him into jail.
