Avery, Lorelai, and Rory are all sitting in the living room reading. Lorelai looks out the window and jumps up. "Mail's here," She exclaims happily "Mail!" The twins yell in unison "Hurry up where are your shoes?" Lorelai asks, looking at Rory. "I'll get them later," The older twin says "No, get them now." Avery tells her "Why?"

"Why? Because if our acceptance letters are in that batch of mail and you don't have shoes on we can't run off immediately and celebrate. All of our happiness will be on hold until you come back inside and put on your shoes. Is that what you want to put a hold on happiness?" Avery asks her sister "What's the difference if we wait then or we wait now?" Rory questions.

"Because we aren't happy now," Lorelai scoffs. "Right, okay," Rory says, turning and running to grab her shoes. A second later she comes running out with her shoes on "Lets go," All three of the Gilmore girls come barreling out of the house and toward Kirk whos standing next to the mailbox going through his mailbag.

"Kirk!" All three of them yell. "Good morning, ladies" Kirk greets them "Are there any envelopes in there? Big ones, not little ones," Rory asks "Yeah, the big ones mean we got in, the little ones mean we need to marry rich," Avery says. "Just one second please,"

Avery groans while Kirk continues to slowly go through the mail "Aren't you supposed to go through the mail before you get here?" Rory asks. "Some work that way. Personally, I think it takes the spontaneity out of the job." Kirk says "Do you need some help?" Lorelai asks, bouncing on her feet. "Sorry, federal law prohibits it," The man says "Screw the feds, you could have the key to my future in that stupid bag," Avery says, reaching toward Kirk. Lorelai grabs the girl by the shoulders and start directing her toward the house "It's okay we'll just check again before we go to Luke's...For dinner"

Avery walks out of her English class and starts making her way toward her locker, when Tristan comes up beside her, taking her books from her arms. "My mom is throwing a party and your attendance is required, because it's technically for both of us." The blonde says, looking down at the girl. Avery furrows her brows "Party for what?"

"Our acceptance into Yale," Tristan explains. The two of them reach Avery's locker "We haven't been accepted yet," She says, taking her books back from the boy and placing them in her locker. "Exactly we haven't been accepted yet. But we will be," He tells her, putting an emphasis on the word yet. Avery sighs as she closes her locker "how are you so sure?"

"Hayden, we're both more than qualified to get into Yale. Don't worry about it too much. And, if we somehow don't get in, we'll have a party to cheer us up," He says, swinging his arm over the girl's shoulder, causing her cheeks to heat up ever so slightly.

Avery walks into her kitchen and sees her mom sitting at the table "Anything yet?" The girl asks regarding the letters, Lorelai shakes her "Sorry, kid," Avery huffs, dropping her bag on the floor and falling into a chair "Tristan's mom is throwing a party for us," The girl says "Party? Why?" Lorelai asks "Yale acceptance. Can I go?" Avery asks "Yeah, but I want set a few ground rules," Avery groans

"Listen, your feelings have changed, so the rules are going to change," Lorelai says sternly. "Okay," Avery nods "One, If you stay the night you two are required to sleep in different rooms," Lorelai starts "Got it"

"Two, when you are alone clothes stay on at all times. And three, tell him how you feel," Avery scrunches her nose "Can I make an objection about rule number three?" she asks. Lorelai shakes her head "No. Oh, and one more thing. If something does happen between the two of you, I want to hear every detail,"

It was Friday night and the girls had just gotten back from Chilton, they were walking toward the mailbox, while talking about the fact that Lorelai and Max had kissed "What about Alex?" Avery asks her mother "I don't know," Lorelai says. Avery opens the mailbox as Rory says something else to her mother. "Avery?" Lorelai asks when she noticed the girl was standing completely frozen. Avery looks at her mom and sister as she pulls two envelopes out from the mailbox. "The big ones," She says.

Suddenly Avery's phone starts ringing and she pulls it out of her pocket "Did you get it?" It was Tristan "Yeah. Did you?" She asks "I did. So what do you say, Hayden? You. Me. Yale. Are you still in?" Avery smiles at the boy's words "You. Me. Yale. Let's do it." She says smiling.

Saturday night, the night of the party. Avery had just gotten to the Dugray's house and knocked on the door. The door opened and she saw Tristan standing there with a smile on his face. Avery couldn't help but gawk at him. He was wearing black slacks and black button down with the sleeves rolled to his elbow. The outfit was so simple, but Tristan Dugray looked stupidly handsome in it. "Thank god. I don't think I can handle another second of this party without you." Avery laughed as the boy pulled her into the house.

After a long night of listening to high society old people ramble on about...Well, Avery didn't really know because she tuned them out for most of the night, the girl was exhausted. She called her mom to tell her that she would be staying the night and walked into the bedroom she would normally use while staying at the Dugray house.

The girl changed out of her dress and took her makeup off before making her way down the hall to Tristan's room. She softly knocked on his door. The door opened and Avery smiled at the boy "I just wanted to come say goodnight.

As Avery stood in front of him, Tristan couldn't help but admire her. The girl's face was bare and she was using a pair of his boxers and one of his shirts as pajamas. Everything about the sight in front of him was perfect.

Over the past few months Tristan had noticed a change in his relationship with Avery. She had become somewhat distant and It scared him.

Tristan Dugray had been in love with Avery Gilmore since the day he met her. And although he didn't get to be with her the way he wanted, he still wanted her to be in his life. He didn't want to lose her.

"Are you okay?" Tristan snapped out of his thoughts at the sound of Avery's voice. "You kinda spaced out there for a second," She said. "Sorry." He mumbled while slightly shaking his head. "Do you want to talk about it?" Avery asked him softly "No, I'm fine. Night, Hayden,"

"Night," She said before turning and walking back down the hall to the guest room. Tristan watched as she closed the door and sighed to himself.

Avery closed the bedroom door and sighed "Guess I won't be following rule number three," She muttered to herself. Then, there was a knock at her door, the girl opened it and saw Tristan standing there. She furrowed her brows. "What are you-" Avery's question was cut short as Tristan cupped her cheeks and pressed his lips to hers. After a moment he pulled away.

"Shit, I- I'm sorry. I should've asked first, but I just couldn't-" Avery cut him off as she wrapped her arm around her neck and reconnected their lips. Everything about the kiss was perfect to Avery, It felt as if their lips were made to fit the others. The heat got progressively more heated and both of them started walking into the room without separating from each other. Tristan closed the door behind them as they made their way over to the bed.

When Lorelai was telling Avery the rules about staying at Tristan's house since her feelings toward the boy changed, she felt like her mom was being a little ridiculous. But, she still intended on following them. Now, here she was laying on the bed as the boy was hovering over her. They pulled away from the kiss breathing heavily.

"Are you sure?" Avery nodded at the boy's question and he pressed his lips to hers again before slowly trailing down to her neck. Avery bit her lip before tugging at the blonde's shirt signaling that she wanted it off. Tristan obliged and took his shirt off before taking hers off as well. Avery admired his bare torso, causing the boy to smirk "Like what you see?"

Avery bit her lip and nodded "Very much so, yes" she said. Tristan chuckled softly as he reconnected their lips.
