"Hi Mrs. Dugray. It's Avery Gilmore"

"Oh. Hi, honey. How are you?" Avery pursed her lips "I'm fine. Is there a reason you called me yesterday?" The Gilmore girl asked, getting straight to the point. "I wanted to invite you over for tea and brunch. You know, so we can clear the air" Elenore said. "I'm sorry?" Avery asked in a clipped tone

"Tristan told me about the whole situation and I just wanted to make sure you knew there were no hard feelings. I still think you're a wonderful girl and just wanted to clear a few things up." Elenore said

"It happened over a year- wait what do you mean? What exactly did he tell you?" Avery asked

"Uh, perhaps you could come over next weekend" The woman suggested

"I'm not coming over for tea. What did he tell you?"

"He just mentioned that you had gotten upset. And that the whole thing was a big misunderstanding"

Avery scoffed "Misunderstanding? I watched him kiss my sister, how is that a misunderstanding?"

"Listen, I'd prefer if we didn't talk about this over the phone,"

"Well, if you have something you want to say I suggest you do it now because we won't be having another conversation after this," Avery snapped

"Avery,"

"Goodbye Mrs. Dugray" The girl said before slamming the phone down and rubbing her hand on her face. "Well, from now on I listen when Rosemary tells me not to do something" Avery muttered to herself before grabbing her bag and walking out of her dorm, locking the door behind her.

Avery went down to the courtyard to get a cup of coffee in an attempt to calm herself down. She knew it was a bad idea to call Elenore back, but she wanted to know what the woman wanted to talk to her about. Elenore had never been anything but kind to her. But, now Avery was just pissed off.

The girl found an empty bench outside to sit on while she drank her coffee. She sat there for hours just observing the people around her. Once it started to get dark, she decided it was time to go back to her dorm. While she was walking back she got a call from her mom. Before the girl could say anything her mom started talking,

"Okay, please don't hate me," Lorelai said. "What did you do?" Avery asked her mother as she walked up the stairs "Uh, well. I kind of agreed to a double date with Rory and Dean. But, then Luke got upset so then I told him that you would come too," Lorelai explained, causing Avery to groan "Please honey. I need you there. You're like a Luke whisperer and I'm hoping you can keep him from killing Dean"

"Who's gonna keep me from killing Dean?" Avery snarked as she reached her dorm room. She opened the door and her face contorted into one of confusion when she saw the boys in there playing poker and Rosemary sitting on the couch reading, completely unbothered as the boys argued.
