Anastasia's POV (Edited)

"Hey, can I come in?"

I looked up from my file to see Mr. Mitchell standing at the door.

"Of, course you can."

I placed my pen back on the file straightening on my chair. He smiled before making his way further into the office and settling down on the chair infront of me.

"Is there something wrong?"

I couldn't help but ask. Since the project is halfway complete and the rest of the work is going on full swing, it's not weird to have problems arose.

"Rest assured. Everything is tip top. I came here for another reason."

He replied calming down my worries. But another look of confusion appeared on my face. What could possibly be the other matter?

I shrugged as if asking for him to continue. He leaned onto the table before asking

"Is everything going alright between you and Aaron?"

His sudden question caught me off guard. Why is he asking that? Does he know about our relationship? But how could he know? All these type of weird thoughts started generating into my head. If he knew about us already, then in no time that Kayden would also know off it too. Mr. Mitchell and Kayden has a next level of understanding between each other and it's safe to say that apart from that Mr. Mitchell chose to work with the Atkinson's this time, Kayden and he still met occasionally.

My insides were burning inside but still I kept my cool and asked him almost nonchalantly

"What do you mean by that?"

Mr. Mitchell sighed before he leaned back on the chair giving me time to breath. He shrugged before answering causally

"There's no usual argument between both of you. Remember in the initial days, you both bicker almost on every single detail. Now, it's pure quiet. No offense but you both were kind of chaotic in the first and now it's like everything is calm."

Of course, he would doubt. It's no debate that Aaron and I fought alot and I mean alot in the initial days. We both couldn't even stand each other for even a moment. So, it must be a little strange for everyone to digest the fact that we both had surrended or more likely not fighting at all.

"It's nothing like that. We just thought of it to be purely unprofessional. We talked like two adults and decided to let our rivalry slide for your project."

I answered even though I'm surprised how fluently I lied. But I had to. I'm sure Kayden calls Mr. Mitchell to ask about me. Mr. Mitchell raised his eyebrows as if trying to see through the inner me. But I kept my posture tight and secured. He finally released a long breath before standing up

"Well it's good for me. I honestly didn't want you to fight too. It's good that you both decided to do it yourself."

I nodded while smiling. He was about to leave but stopped and turned around.

"Oh, another thing?"

I looked up waiting for him to say.

"The party I was talking about the other day, well, I decided to switch it to tomorrow."

"Any particular reason about it?"

I couldn't help but ask. The project is still not complete and the party was due three weeks. So, why the sudden change? Mr. Mitchell smiled before answering
