In the street that I come

My lamp and life, no less than

noisy hues, to shed some light

How much do you gotta climb?

So, in my bed I ponder, ponder

about light that stream, dropped

in bombshells, how dark is it?

how dark is it, to be lost in gilded gleam?

Awake, sing, awake, sing,

repeat— before you forget to drown

in calm streams, no sheds— eew!

Darting conscious brew,

Cloudy dreams that grew,

Now sullen in murky dues,

Almost to hell, should I fall?

Maybe no more hideous path,

glimpse in fury dark,

that once was loved!

Shady street lights stabbed bright,

Now, I long to travel back—

tread again to see what's left!
