Making amends

Y/n and strike landed on an island only 30 minutes from Berk just to have a night away
"Ugh Strike what do I do!?" She questioned as she paced the cave they sat in
"He kissed me! We tried to kill each other less than a month ago!" She shouted in frustration as her dragon just rolled his eyes and let the girl get on with her ranting
"I mean I know I used to have feelings for him but I just don't know." She sighed as she sat down leaning on Strike who licked her palm.
She sat for a good few minutes contemplating life but then she heard a loud roar, she quickly got up and rushed to the cave opening, it looked like someone else actually lived in this cave - a titan wing monstrous nightmare - which was making its way over to the entrance.
Strike give a worried coo and ran to his rider's side but Y/n told him to back down
"Easy girl, we'll go and you can have your cave back" she spoke softly.
She reached out her palm and quickly tamed the dragon, relief flowed through her shaking body and she hopped onto Strike and they shot off the island, thankfully with all their limbs.
"Okay back to Berk it is I guess" Y/n scoffed.

She landed back on Berk behind Gobber's hut and ran inside the back door to see Gobber eating a chicken leg
"Y/n, where were you?" He asked between bites
"Tried to stay at an island but got chased off by a dragon" the girl rolled her eyes and headed to her upstairs room
"Y/n wait!" Gobber shouted
"What is it Gobber" she huffed
" you know if you need anything, you can talk to me" he smiled warmly.
That was all it took for Y/n to break down crying and run to her father figure for a hug
"Oh Y/n, what's wrong?" He questioned as he rubbed her back softly and her dragon overlooked with a solemn expression
"Hiccup k-kissed me" she sobbed
"And why is that a bad thing? The boy has finally stopped being blind!" Gobber laughed 
"Dad! He broke up with Astrid like 5 minutes before and we literally were trying to kill each other like 3 weeks ago!" She yelled as she pulled away.
Gobber put his hands - well hand and hook up in surrender
"Okay okay, but when you've worked out your emotions go talk to that lad" he said as he patted her back and went back to his chicken leg
"I will" she sighed before walking up the stairs with her dragon
"Teenagers" Gobber chuckled lightly to himself.

"Oh Strike I don't know what to do" Y/n mumbled into her pillow.
The dragon came over and licked the side of her face
"You always know how to me me laugh buddy" she said sitting up and scratching her dragon
"Now let's go find Hiccup"

Hiccup sat swinging his legs over the cliff as Toothless lay beside him
"Bud what have I done?" He sighed to his dragon
"You've not done anything wrong" a voice said from the other side of him
"Y/n I'm so sorry" he whispered
"Don't be, I was just shocked that's all Hic. I just don't realise you like me like that, don't get me wrong when we were kids I felt that way too but so much has changed, I left and you got a girlfriend who hates me by the way and now here we are, sitting on a cliff with dragons no one could have expected that" she finished with a slight chuckle
"Well I think everything happens for a reason" the boy smiled as Y/n sat beside him and their dragons went off to play
"True" the girl sighed as she began to pleat a strand of Hiccup's hair
"What are you doing" he laughed
"Just a cute little pleat, you'll loveee it" she laughed back
The dragons came bounding back over and Toothless kept looking to Hiccups fake leg
"You want this bud?" He said as he took it off and swung it side to side as the 2 dragon's eyes followed it
"Then go get it!" He shouted as he threw it behind him and the dragons chased it
"They're such big puppies" Hiccup laughed
"Oh 100%" Y/n laughed
"And done!" She said happily once she finished the pleat. Hiccup went over it with his fingers and was about to speak when Strike placed his leg in his lap
"Eeww" the brunette boy said as he tossed the leg again and Y/n laughed
"Come on hobble, let's go get some food. I have a girl I need to speak to" Y/n said with a warm smile as she helped up her one legged friend
"Toothless! My leg please" the boy rolled his eyes as the dragon didn't bring it back
"Looks like I might just need a helping hand to get there" he said all embarrassed
"Fine by me hobble" Y/n laughed as the boy stuck out his tongue at her.

Eventually they managed to get the leg back and made it to the great hall, everyone was sitting at the usual table and as they walked all eyes landed on Y/n
"Have I got something on my face?" She said with an eyeroll once she got there, everyone looked down
"Astrid can I speak to you?" She asked with a small kind smile
"I guess so" the blonde replied with a huff.
They walked to a quiet corner of the the hall and Y/n began to talk
"Listen I'm gonna try stay out your way but I've been getting on with the others quite well so could you maybe lighten up and we could make a truce of some kind" Y/n tried to reason
"No you slag, you stole my boyfriend" Astrid said with venom lacing every word
"Okay then, you better sleep with one eye open" Y/n said in the same tone and began walking away to the table again
"Wait!" Astrid said she pulled Y/n back, a smile formed on Y/n's face, she knew this girl wasn't as tuff as she made herself out to be
"Look I'm sorry, I know Hiccup and me were having issues before you came back, I just guess I wanted someone to blame. I'm sorry Y/n" she sighed
"Thanks for the apology, now listen I'm not going to do anything unless you do something first in the means of hurting me or anyone I love. Sound fair?" Y/n spoke confidently
"Yeah sounds fair" the blonde said and they shook hands and walked back to the table as everyone stared at them.
Y/n sat beside Hiccup for good measure and wrapped arm around his torso, if she was to be treated like a bitch she might as well be one. Astrid stared with jealousy raging off her features but Y/n payed no attention to that.

Eventually the night was over and Y/n and Hiccup headed to their homes
"Want to stay at mine like we used to?" Y/n questioned as they walked
"Yeah of course! Can we go to mine and get some stuff first?" Hiccup replied
"Yeah sure" y/n said with a smile as they headed to the Haddock household.
Entering they saw Stoick
"Hello guys!" He greeted kindly
"Hello Cheif"
"Hey dad, just here to get some stuff and then I'm staying with Y/n"
"Okay son, and no need for the formal greeting Y/n you know you can call me Stoick" the large man said as he placed a heavy hand on the girls shoulder
"Okie dokie" she smiled and they headed upstairs to get stuff, quickly grabbing it and running back out the door, a quick walk later they were at Gobber's
"Dad you in?!" Y/n yelled as the walked through but she got no reply except a snore
"Well that's my answer" she laughed
"Gods I haven't missed that" Hiccup laughed back.
They went up stairs and got ready for bed, both getting in the same one since it was rather large.
They drew for a while and caught up on what each of them done while Y/n was away.
"Night Hic" Y/n said as they began to drift into a peaceful sleep
"Night milady" he yawned
