Man, f*ck this sh*t."

Even before he opened his eyes, he was tackled by Fu Hua. He was in despair at how weak he was so it was nice that she was very soft and smelled good, otherwise he would have done a German suplex.

He felt tired, this was the most exhaustive period of his both his lifetimes. Responsibilities, secrets and all sorts of mysterious sht keep occurring to him one after another. He looked towards Fu Hua and felt his mental drain start going away.

His expression became gentle and he patted her head to show that he was fine. He decided that it was alright to relax a bit infront of Fu Hua, she was his anyway.

“Hua~, thanks for your concern~.”

Initially Fu Hua was very happy after hearing his gratitude but then became flustered upon realising that she had been hugging him like that. What to do, he had been missing for a week! She had even forgotten about the matter of her strength increasing out of nowhere!

She was worried sick!

Of course, she wasn't stupid, she could see that he was feeling drained. In fact, she had never seen him so exhausted. He seemed to be on the verge of.. Giving up? Thinking upto that point, her chest felt tight. It felt uncomfortable to see him so dispirited.

“Juviel, come. Take a rest.”

She sat down in a comfortable position and patted her thighs, thankfully the floor was quite smooth, otherwise it wouldn't have felt good. Juviel was stunned for a bit but felt happy that she noticed how he was feeling.

So he agreed and lay down on the ground with his head on her lap and couldn't help but think about how soft it was. He felt all of his worries start dissipating, then he felt Fu Hua's hand stroking his head.

“It's okay to take a rest sometimes, Juviel. It's alright to pause for some time before continuing on. It's fine to go at your own pace.”

It was only at times like this that Fu Hua recalled that Juviel was just a human at the end of the day. She tended to her disciples similarly in the past so in regards to parental care, she was a bit experienced, unfortunately they betrayed her.

She frowned at that thought but decided to shake it off, afterall, unlike them, Juviel was connected to her. She could feel his sincerity, he wasn't that type of person.

Comforting him, she continued to stroke his head, hoping to be able to ease his burdens. Although she didn't know about all of his burdens, she knew the burden of protecting humanity. Being a Flamechaser, she was alll too experienced.

But back then, she had her comrades. Whether it be the 13 Flamechasers or MOTH, she had reliable and capable allies that could share her burden. Unfortunately, Juviel did not. He had been doing everything alone for all this time. Even after he summoned her, he was trying his best to make sure she wasn't burdened with anything.

The only thing he asked her for was information and after that, he only wanted her to accompany him. Nothing else, one must know that in the current time, she was the strongest existence in the world. He could just leave the fighting and everything combat related to her, but he didn't, it wasn't because of his pride, it was because he didn't wish to burden her.

To top it off, he was just 17 years old..

Her heart ached at that thought, why must a teen like him go through this torture? Fate is so cruel.. Most teens at his age are either playing games or enjoying their life.. But he doesn't even give himself the time to do that.

“Juviel, you may have my MANTIS genes, but you still shouldn't overexert yourself. Share your burdens with me, I may not be the best but I am willing to share your pain.”
