Juliette

Istare stunned at my best friend as she delivers earth-shattering news.

"Please tell me you're joking."

Lisabell shakes her head. "I'm so sorry, Juliette, but I'm not."She got a huge business opportunity, which is amazing news. But the rest of it is arguably not amazing.

"You have to move to L.A.? You don't even like the city."

"I know. But this could change so much for me, Juliette. It's the best thing that has happened to me in a long time. I will have the largest agency in the entire city and you know I wont have any problems building up my clientele. This is too incredible of an opportunity to pass up."

"I know that. And I'm happy for you, truly. It's just-"

I hate that I can't be completely happy for my friend when she has reached this new milestone her life. All she has wanted was a super successful babysitting agency and now she has it. I just wished it didn't entail her having to move so far away from here. Lisabell and I have been together for most of our lives and I can't imagine her not by my side.

"I know, Julie. I get it." She sits next to me on the couch and pulls me into her arms. "It wasn't an easy decision for me to make. It's why I've been so distracted all week."

I hadn't even noticed she was distracted. Mostly because I've also been distracted. By thoughts of a certain brown-eyed billionaire. It's no wonder Lisabell hasn't grilled me about him since we were at the house. She's had a lot on her mind.

"You'll be amazing at it," I tell her, getting over my pity party. Right now, it feels like I'm about to lose a part of myself, but I can't keep my best friend away from her dreams. "You'll kick ass, Bells. I know it."

"Yeah, I know it, too. I just wish I didn't have to leave you."

"You're not leaving. We'll talk all the time over the phone. It'll be like I'm right beside you."

She laughs. "Yeah."

We both fall silent for a while before Lisabell speaks.

"Or you could come with me?" she suggests.

I would be lying if I said the thought hadn't crossed my mind.

"Lisabell," I say quietly.

"Come on, Jules. Think about it. You're having such a hard time finding a job here, but it'll be L.A. There are lots of opportunities there. I'll help you. It'll be amazing."

She's right. I would have better opportunities there than in L.A., but I don't know if I can just pack up and go live in another city. I hate change and the last few months, my life has been full of it. I don't know if I would be able to handle it. And I'm also not financially stable enough to just pack up and live somewhere else.

I don't even have a home- Holy shit. I don't have a home. Where am I going to live once Lisabell leaves?

My eyes flutter shut. I can feel a headache coming on. I was already feeling a little sick before all this. "Lisabell, I have to go. But I promise I'll think about it," I tell her.

She frowns. "It's 10 a.m. where do you have to go?"

Oh, right. I haven't told her.

The Callahans'," I say quietly.

Her eyes narrow. "You're heading to my babysitting gig. Without me."

"Xander invited me over."

"Oh, really?Xanderinvited you. Look at you being all informal and friendly with a billionaire you were practically obsessed with before you even met."
